Agree with this. Offensive penalties also killed us in the second half.

    1st half

    - False Start

    2nd half

    - Offensive holding

    - Illegal formation

    - Illegal block

    - Intentional grounding

Also, all 6 of Colorado's sacks came in the second half. A lot of that is just a lack of focus. Three of those penalties came on a drive that ultimately ended in a punt and the illegal formation was on a punt giving CU better field position.

When Frost talks about the small margin for error this team has, this is what he's referring to.  Clean first half leads to dominating an inferior team, ugly second half leads to blown lead.

I just think Colorado played harder because they wanted it more.  They out hustled us.  Except for a few players.  This team of ours has never known what it is like to be in the chase for the title, and they didn't have that hunger to pull them through.

  2. The way to win involves this:

6 briefcases absolutely full of Benjamins.

A private jet, and one word: SABAN.

    It worked for Bama

    Stalin had Zhukov

    Churchill had Montgomery

     Alabama had Benjamin Franklin.

    Amiright?!

    Just fire away here.

WTF was that??  You overrun lowly Folsom Field with fans dressed in red, blast a dreaded former rival for 2 quarters, and then go on ... like it was part of the game plan ... piss it all away with lack of adjustments, lack of energy, lack of execution, thinking any opponent will give up when things don't go well (a nice Nebraska trait).

Adrian Martinez is getting worse each game with his vision, touch, and decision making.

There isn't any consistency in play.

WTF do we not have a kicker????   How many kickers hast NU put in the NFL this century alone??

Only NU can let a 96 yard flea flicker work against them and no one is really surprised.

Soon the longest play from scrimmage for nearly all NCAA 1A team will be against Nebraska.

    Black shirts?  My Azz.

I was hopefully optimistic in the offseason for an 8+ win season.   While I only wanted to get a a bowl game.   Didn't care which bowl it was.  Could still be home for X-mas  for all I care just get the extra practices and face another medicore team in a game that no one cares about.

    Who's next???

    ....cuz they got high

  4. The hard physical contact is an integral part of the game.  By sparing that hit you don't slow or intimidate the defender for future plays.  You change the nature of the game.  And it sucks.  The goal was to hit them as hard as you can.  So you can win.  It is the true essence of American football.  Give that up and what the hell is the point?

    No,

Even though I see problems with the rule as we know it reading this thread, it's a continuation of trying to make the game safer.....which all of us should support.

We can support the intended goal and still believe this is a bad rule.

Why should we all support that?

Is anyone being forced to play?  Is anyone being forced to watch?

Do you support making alcohol safer by eliminating all but 3.2 beer?

Are you in favor of banning any cigar that doesn't have some type of filter?

What about personal choice and personal accountability?

    What about freedom?

What about the freedom for fans to watch a pure game which has not been watered down and ruined by attorneys and insurance companies?

  6. It might be time to let the season tickets go.  I am tired of the University bilking for thousands of dollars, saying " oh we have a great program" then barely beating Sun belt team.  and its been going on since 2004.  At some point you say the emperor has no clothes.  You say we have a great team then you trot out a bunch of stoners with an offensive line looking they just came out of the biker bar ( literally)  and cant snap a ball or push around a 240 pound sun belt D-tackle.

In practice they break huddle (Farnioks and all) by saying "pipeline".  These guys are as far from the NU pipeline as you are from the Alaska pipeline.  Maybe they are talking about the Mary Jane pipeline?  Sht I saw better football players on the movie Waterboy.  Heres to brighter tomorrows.

    Good nite yall!

You can't just not point out how much improved our punting was today though, surely. That's either overly critical or a case of not really being able to dissect what you're watching. Our punt team all around played pretty well today.

Bad O Line = lots of punt team talk.

Pump the breaks on Jurgens being the problem, he had some pretty bad snaps the first half but he didn’t play much the 2nd half and there was still no offense.  The run game was still anemic.  All game Martinez had time and guys open on a number of plays and made bad reads, throws, or just pulled it down and ran into a pile.

Farniok hair bros werent moving anybody.

I hate lightening storms. It’s worse than lightning because this has the potential to erase all of the s&c gains they’ve made if they get lighter.

Proving once again that education in Nebraska is top noch.

He wants pure muscle and athleticism close to the LOS.  And then burners as you move further away.  Both O and D.

This is slightly different than Oregon.  Those guys were always a bit undersized at the line.  You could see it when they played SEC teams and OSU.  If we can have 90's NU line strength and Oregon's tempo/athletes...watch out.

Oregon never had our kind of speed.
