  1. The last thing I want to add before I put this issue to rest in my eyes is why the hell is this coming about 10 years later. What is wrong with these attention-craving dinglenuts that they have to crave attention to the point of ruffling 10 year-old feathers. That is bizarre in its own right.

personal opinion on this...I think it may have something to do with the Hall of Fame voting taking place. Could it be that Brown thinks he needs to get his name out there again so people will remember him? I think he was up for the Hall last year but didn't make it. Maybe he is thinking that "there is no bad publicity"

    :dunno

  2. If he had to be "hands on" then he hired the wrong guy in the first place. There are what...20 other sports at the university that he has to oversee as well. Not to mention donors, and working out the political sh!tstorm that got the funding for the arena. A stadium expansion. Revamping the Devany for volleyball. New practice facilities. Coaching searches in the other 2 major mens sports. etc, etc, etc. I don't get fans that think Tom's sole job is to oversee the football program.

+a million. The AD is not just responsible for football.

  3. Just bought the book tonight, been through the first 1 1/2 chapters. It puts a light on many of the stories/rumors we heard over the years, but nothing overly mindblowing, except that TO visited LP in prison when we were in SD for the holiday bowl vs. Arizona.

where did you get the book? I looked on amazon and it wasnt there. I know what I am asking for Christmas! chuckleshuffle

  4. ^^^ This. and quite honestly, I don't have a problem with it. Considering what he inherited...he has done an amazing job.

or he's proven that it's not all that difficult to get 7 wins in a down year for the B1G. their only win of any 'quality' is northwestern. they've been beaten by Ohio (not Ohio State), a 4-7 Viginia team, and tOSU/Nebraska. They played a cupcake schedule, and are 0-3 against the only 3 in the top 30.

when you're Penn State, regardless of the situation and you start out w/ Ohio, Virginia, Navy, Temple, Illinois - you should be 4-1 or 5-0 without much effort. Throw in Iowa in their worst year in a decade, Indiana, and Purdue and all of a sudden 7 wins isn't that spectacular. I think I could coach that team to 6-7 wins, and save them a couple million a year in the process.

just have to disagree. I am not a PSU apologist by any stretch...but like I said, what he inherited was dreadful. players leaving, program poachers and everything else...under any other circumstances, no, he wouldn't be in the conversation. But these circumstances are far from normal.
