  1. I have three boys. One is 13 years old and is a very, very good player and hits like a freight train. He has never experienced a concussion or complained of any thing related to his head. He is also in every accelerated gifted course the school offers

My middle son is in his second year of playing in pop warner and will continue to do so. My youngest is to young to play right now, but I am sure he will follow in his brother's footsteps, although I will not push him to do so.

I have a lot of mixed emotions about how frantic the 'experts' are making everyone about the game. I was able to play for many years (including college) and while sustaining three concussions myself, am not experiencing any long term effects....as of yet (now 40 years old).

  2. The problem with McGloin's lack of mobility for NU is that from the times that I have watched Penn State play, he does a 3 step drop and gets rid of the ball quickly. The passing offense that they run is kind of a dink-and-dunk offense that gets the ball out of the QBs hands within a couple seconds.

It's going to take some good press coverage and well-timed blitzes to get McGloin on the ground very often this Saturday.

I also think that McGloin uses his TE's pretty effectively. They want the ball out of his hands quickly...so the 3 step drop and get it to the TE.

  3. Obviously to win any football game, it takes a combo of everything listed in the poll...but I think we really need to establish the run game early. Sparty has a pretty salty D and we need to establish our dominance right off the bat. Best way to do this is cram the ball down their throat.

  4. We are incorporating the NU prayer this year for my son's youth football team. We are gathering in the endzone, "praying" then cranking WWE superstar Rybacks theme song called "Meat"

  5. I know and understand everyone's skepticism...I think we all have the right to be at this point...but I got to admit, this particular off season has got me juiced. There is just something different about how these guys are coming off...even Bo.

I truly think Bo has been putting in some extra hours at the "Wizard of Oz" school of coaching and leadership and I think it is going to start paying off. That, and the last two hires Bo has made has really impressed me thus far...great strides in the right direction.
