I agree TTurnover. For us to be successful, the defensive backfield is going to have to be GREATLY improved over last year. It is more than just creating a pash rush. The DBs need to flat out play better as a group.

Not only will Dillard play, I fully expect him to be starting by the middle of the year. Also look for Barry Turner to play A LOT.

From what I have seen and my own personal feelings, there is a VERY high level of excitement from the fans. I don't think the excitement level is down much. The EXPECTATION level is certainly down, but not the excitement level IMO.

Huskerbirdman: I have to say that Sean Callahan is not the greatest of reporters and not the most knowledgeable person around when it comes to Husker football. He does get better access to the program then the average joe, but he is spoon fed whatever the SID feels they want put out there. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some of the information he does put out, but it is nothing different than what is given to the rest of the media. As for the dude from Rivals, understand that he is purely in the business to make money and also runs sites for USC and Oregon. He claims to be an NU fan and acts like a homer, but he is far from it. He is only a Husker fan as far as the their dollars will fit in his pocket. I have found BRR and Steve Ryan to be far more reliable, honest and I know he is a true Husker die hard. Personally, give me a Steve Ryan or a Lyle Bremser or a Kent Pavelka that bleeds Husker red over a Sean Callahan, Roz Roasteneer or Warren Swain anyday.

New here myself Boris, but welcome. I've pretty much learned that the only thing that is really accurate is what is in the papers though. If it isn't in the papers, you can't really believe it. I haven't seen too many real "insiders" on internet boards. Real insiders don't post on message boards IMO. Not to doubt you or flame in anyway, just being honest.

No way Captain Kirk on Cosgrove. If BC goes, the whole staff will go with him. Ain't going to happen anyway because Callahan isn't getting fired anytime soon. BUT, if he did, Cosgrove wouldn't even make the top 250 candidates for head coach. Poetic justice would be for us to keep sucking, BC and SP get fired. New AD comes in and hires Frank Solich back after taking Ohio to a BCS game.

I agree. Cory is going to have a GREAT season barring injury. You couldn't ask for a nicer or more hardworking kid. He may go down as one of the all-time most remembered Huskers if this season goes as well as I think it might.

Harrison Beck will be just fine. He will be ready when Taylor graduates and, God forbid Taylor goes down next season, I think he will be ready next year. This year he is probably just too green and has to much to learn to really help us. Remember, lots of former players didn't show much until their Junior or Senior years.

I'm sick and tired of all these message boards where people get in their little groups and get all clicky. I'm also sick of message boards that talk about everything under the sun EXCEPT Husker football. I'm sick of people who only visit to piss everyone else off. Whatever happened to enjoying Husker football and having a free discussion (and arguements) on the direction of the team? I don't mind the arguing back and forth on things of importance (such as Solich vs. Callahan or Taylor vs. Beck). That is what I am looking for and I'm not sure if this place is it or not. Those who are up for REALLY talking about Nebraska football I would appreciate hearing from, those who just want to screw around, please don't waste my time or reply to my posts. Thank you in advance.
