The softball thing did happen and it had to do with an umpire. Bo got in a heated arguement with an umpire about a call made. Bo was asked to go to the head table to talk with the main guy in charge about it. He did and that conversation got heated and Bo kind of blew up and was asked to leave. This is what was told to me by a guy I work with that was there because his daughter was playing.

 

He said people were blowing it way out of proportion before Bo even left the field. He said it wouldn't be any different then any other parent getting pissed at a game except it was BO.

 

I know some parents who were at that tournament. It was such a nothing thing that nobody even talked about it until I asked them, and they basically said the same thing - it was a pretty normal dispute you see at tournaments like this. Pretty much everyone, from both teams, was upset at this ump. The umps take a LOT of grief from the stands at these tournaments, and while I don't agree with it, it happens all the time. I have not heard that Bo was asked to leave.

 

This tournament was held in June but the first anyone heard about it was last week, apparently because in the retelling of this "incident" the story seems to get embellished. Pretty soon we're going to find out that nobody has any clear memories of it because Tom Osborne called in the Men in Black and had them clean the situation up.

To much offseason practice? Forgot about that. Still doesn't seem like it should be lumped into the Ohio State mess...though which each passing week it seems the OSU crap gets downplayed and downplayed until before too long they'll get a couple secondary violations and be on w/ their cheating.

OSU will get whats coming to them...What pisses me off is that the two teams that played for the MNC have both been caught cheating somewhat worse then OSU and not a damn thing has really been said about it. It will take the NCAA longer to sort this stuff out then it did for them on the USC matter.

Judging by his offer list, he isn't to far behind him...Like SEC said, he is more of a nose tackle and not one that will really rely on speed to make plays.

Put him and Jay Guy in the middle and you will have to BIG boys that will plug up the middle and be hard to move.

I like it for the fact of what the name and game is going to reflect. I was reading that the proceeds from this game will go to the Iowa and Nebraska Red Cross. Every year, one person will be nominated from each state by friends, neighbors or whoever for being a "hero" and will be addressed at the game about it. I don't think any other trophy game does this.

CJ will be a starter opposite to C. Evans next year. Along with Cooper and Harvey as safties, this will be one oustanding secondary.

Not everyone on the team participates in fall camp. I believe it is somewhere in the neighborhood of 90 players who get to go to fall camp. I don't think freshman typically are invited to fall camp unless they are a phenom and have a legit chance at starting (obviously Bubba would probably fall into this category). This does not mean that they are not part of the team. A guy could hypothetically not participate in fall camp and then start every game during the season. So Bubba could not participate in fan day, not participate in fall camp, and then still end up playing this season.

 

This is 100% not true. The only reason I've ever heard of any guy not taking part in Fall Camp was injury. Every player on the roster takes full part in camp whether they are a fifth-year senior or newly-signed Freshman.

 

The roster for fall camp is limited (to 105 IIRC) until the fall semester of school starts and then everyone can participate. I believe that the Freshman walk-ons have to wait until school starts, but not the scholarship frosh.

Suh was helping coach top recruits at "The Opening" in Oregon the last few days. This guy is everywhere.

We need to get this guy and Bullard to visit at the same time. Our dline would look really scary in a few years with these two together.

JP must be recruiting this kid...No other guy can make a kid go from not even mentioning us to having us in his top 10. As long as we keep JP around, we will be in on some very good guys till the end every year.

Coach Jeff Sims takes job at Indiana as Recruiting Coordinator. Hope the OC can keep this nice little pipeline NU has going. Sucks also cause I always hoped NU could find a spot for him on the staff.

I'm either at Champions or at a lot that is west of the stadium...I believe it is on 7th or 8th street on the north side of the tracks.

I can hear it now " Man, Peters and Beaver are all over the field today" or "Peters met Beaver at the ball carrier"...It would kind of be hard not to get a laugh out of it if you were calling the game as an announcer.
