Helmet is awesome... a red face mask would have really put it over the top though

Sort of. They still gave up 21 against a really weak opponent in game 1 with a new coach.
There's massive amounts of room for improvement there.
Wasn't the fumble return for a TD part of that 21pts? I can't remember, the whole game is a blur for me now lol

One coach who had the locker room willing to run through walls for him went scorched on the next HC before that person was hired. Hired a happy go lucky guy who didn’t hold players accountable - probably made John Parella sick to his stomach and never wanted to coach college kids again. To Frost, who’s ego and connection to Riley would be like having a Colorado Buffalo come coach the Huskers.
The on field success ties to the AD, but I’d put 95% of this on the stark contrast of flip flopping head coaching personalities and philosophies.
Which is why I think a 5 year overhaul is due for anyone coming into this program.
I've thought this the whole time... and I feel the same could be applied to when they canned Solich... If they had hired someone who ran a similar system, we may have not seen the drop off that we did from Solich to Callahan or Pelini to Riley. I never understood the want for complete change like that, knowing the players we had wouldn't fit the system coming in

I can only imagine the headlines if it ended, it would be YUGE news and everyone would be talking about "how far Nebraska has fallen" (more than they already do anyway)

So will Michigan have to vacate all those wins now? If so, they wont be at the top of the All-time wins list and we wont have to share the 97 Natty anymore?

Curious if we would take McCaffrey back, if he can't find a home.
As long as he doesn't expect to play QB and is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win, I say let the team vote on it, if they want him back let him come back

It's all so confusing to me ... so when are when playing Garth Brooks? We just seem to keep adding home games for the silliest of reasons. I had heard faintly of Fordham ... and I realize that we need to get to six [6] wins real bad.
So, it must be my age ... but where is Garth Brooks University? I had no idea there was ever such a thing. It sounds more like a music singer or a comedian than a school. If we can't beat Garth Brooks, we have some pretty big issues on our hands lol

Interesting...

I always hope for the best, but the realist in me says no. I will continue to be that guy until I see some evidence that we are moving in the right direction on offense

The only way this goes away and everyone forgets about it, is to go out and beat OU.

The 5 receptions for 40 yards isn't referring to Luke...smh.
Dammit!
turns out i was being generous about his receiving production

Agreed, actually. I just don't think his receiving stats should even be brought up as a reason "we wont miss him". He never gave the position a chance and never played that many snaps there in the first place

That being said, if he wants to play QB and refuses to switch then fine. Best of luck to him. Once a Husker always a Husker

You don't seem to understand "potential". Everyone here knows that he would be better suited at WR than QB. If he had switched and stuck at WR I think its pretty obvious that he is an electric athlete and would have more than the 5 catches and 40 yards he had during the handful of snaps he played at WR/RB.

I believe they will fire their DC. Not sure who they go after but last night definitely sealed his fate.
I hear Pelini is free

There has been nothing in the last half decade that would lead me to believe we are equally likely to be 8-0 as 0-8. We have lost to every team we've played outside of Illinois (easily could have lost to them as well) and on the flip side have gone over half a decade without beating half of the teams on our schedule. Of course there is a chance we go 0-8. We recently started out 0-6 against easier competition
We have lost to Illinois... in 2015 14-13

Is this a thing this season? Or is it just in the winter/spring?
-
So now the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 get a year of experience with no penalty while the B1G and PAC12 are sitting on their thumbs and probably not playing in the spring. Great

This statement doesn't say anything about us NOT playing any non-con games

Wasn't Lubick supposed to have taken over play calling already?... wasn't that a thing toward the end of last season?
