  1. I think we're set on 2 DE's and a DT in this class and if we can get Hinds along with McMullen and Valentine I'll be very happy about the future of the D-Line for a long time... and I'm already pretty happy about the future of the D-Line.

Talk about possibility having long term quality and depth. Hope this scenario plays out

  2. Top 10 schools:

    Arizona State

    Auburn

    Florida

    Florida State

    Michigan

    Nebraska

    Notre Dame

    Stanford

    Texas

    USC

*Cut Alabama, Arkansas, Miami (FL), and Oregon

    azcentral.com

I see three schools on there that I had stated I feared the most. He cut two of them.

Now there are still 3 other schools that I'm truly nervous about, so we'll have to see how it shakes out

    Texas, FSU and USC?

Almost except replace FSU for Auburn. He has yet to visit UT and Auburn, so we'll have to see. However, FSU is a school that I'm concerned about, but for some reason not as much as the others.

It's funny when it is about Wilson. What is funnier is people still think Bubba comes here.

I have to see it to believe myself.

As much as I'd like Bubba to suit up for NU in the fall, I'm fully in the mindset that he will not be here and am not incorporating him in our roster. However if I'm wrong, I'll just be wrong but I'll be elated.

  5. Texas just wrote an article on him that makes it sound like Texas might be an early leader. But it was written by an orangebloods writer so take it for what its worth. It said many of the Texas players have been taking a cue from the Jamaal Turner handbook and reaching out to Peat to come to UT. I'll wait to make a prediction until after he makes his visits, sounds like he's doing the same.

Connor Brewer is in his ear all the time, they plan on visiting UT together. I hate f'ing Texas.

I also find it a little odd that Auburn and UT are in again on a top AZ lineman, first Westerman and now Peat. For Westerman, I know UT had a below average season and some coaches left, but his switch was a tad shocking considering that rarely happens at UT and I actually think Josh Turner had more of a case to leave than CW with Muschamp leaving. I wonder what their individual recruiting pitches are, out of curiosity, and I'm serious.

  6. Visiting Texas July 21st-23rd. Looking to visit Auburn and nebraska after the Texas visit.

Definitely gonna have to put our best foot forward for A Peat. Don't like that Auburn and Texas are two of his early leaders...I also don't like either program in general.

Wouldn't be sabotaging anything, it's nothing out of the norm. Scholarships are renewed on a yearly basis, they aren't guaranteed for four years. Like I said I'm not advocating a cutthroat bama-approach. I didn't advocate just shoving the kid out. I said find him a new home. If you don't think TO or Frank did that you're wrong. As far as Kerr goes the hard-work condition of his schollie is pretty suspect.

there's a difference between giving a kid options to go elsewhere and taking his scholarship away if he decides not to. it may seem like a minor distinction, but such things are important.

one of the keys to recruiting under TO was that parents knew that if they sent their kids to NU, they would be taken care of. leaving a kid high and dry because you misjudged his talent is not taking care of them and provides fodder for negative recruiting. sure, "everyone does it", but we don't, and that's important. we only have so many advantages in recruiting. we'll carry a david harvey or latravis washington or okafor or anyone else if they hold up their end and decide they'd rather stay in the NU family than seek playing time elsewhere. (again, if a kid isn't putting the work in or keeping his nose clean, that's a different story.)

    I couldn't agree more.

  8. +1 on JP and our D. I just would like to see us pull in high caliber guys from the SE with no connections to NU, granted I'll take them how we can get them, within the rules of course.

    abdullah...

I look forward to watching his career at NU and I have a feeling he'll be a good to very good player for us. I'd consider Ameer an exception due to the fact that most of the south's heavyweights (Auburn in mind) got on him late as we were on him earlier and I recall him saying that he didn't want to be surrounded by people at Tennessee (take it how you may), that spoke volumes to me personally about his character and priorities. I feel that unlike many prospects in the SE, he had a very open mind as to what school would offer him the best opportunity. However, I do agree with you as to the level of talent that we are getting in him.

  9. I like this kid a lot and would love for him to join the Huskers! So I did some further research on him and found out that his father played for South Carolina. It had me wonder how likely would it be that he leaves the south?

All along I have heard that USCe will be tough to beat for JD, but I have said it before and I will say it again...never underestimate coach JP when it coems to a kid he really wants. South Carolina has been on the upward swing in the past year, but they have nothing on our defense.

  10. While I believe it upgrades Wisconsin's QB situation, it will take time for him to adjust like others said. Where Wisc will be dangerous is still running the ball. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he a 1 yr guy? If so, I feel the odds for those types to be immensely successful are low, JMO. I.e. our own Sam Keller with a redshirt year under his belt, Greg Paulus and Jeremiah Masoli. I know the Wisc has more talent than the teams that the QBs were apart of, but being in a system for a few years counts for something.

    1 year, and no RS.

Appreciated, which even strengthens my thinking. That pic is outta control funny. Haha!

  12. His top 5 (in no particular order) are Nebraska, Oregon State, UCLA, ASU, USC. I had always felt had a good feeling about this guy until I saw his top 5. 4 Pac 12 teams and us...I'm not too fond of that battle.

Was unaware of his top five. For some reason ASU, UCLA and to a lesser extent USC in that order are our competition. That's just my personal feeling.

  13. Scout upgraded him to :star :star :star :star

Thought he never should have been lower than a three star. Glad scout got some sense, now only if rivals wakes up....

Really though, if we get some of the LB targets were after, we're gonna have an outstanding LB class.

  14. Effing Skippy. Glad a coach on the hottest of seats can continue to pull in good talent to waste away while they are California Dreamin' while Skippy plays Kum-bi-ya on his guitar

I know just how you feel! I prefer JIF.

Anyway, lame pun aside, UCLA football commits go there for the education and lifestyle, definitely not the football (at least at this point).

    Mhmmm...

Is this the Nigerian community that Owa was talking about?

Lol dang, I dunno man...Although through my encounters with Nigerians, I have yet to see any that look like that. Not sure if they would claim them as such....

  16. Announced visits to Michigan, Nebraska and UCLA. He said he loved our offense with Tmart, and felt our offense would be where he would fit in most compared to other schools. He likes us as well because we are recruiting him at QB, which it sounds like he wants to stick too. He sound about 40% of the schools want him as an athlete. Sounds like we are in his top three perhaps.

That's encouraging! I really feel he'll work out just fine at QB and I'm pleased that we are genuinely recruiting him as one. As for the other schools mentioned, it will be interesting to find out how Skippy does at UCLA this year and how Hoke uses Robinson, from what I heard of him being a pro style guy, and how Robinson adapts. But I'm glad he's giving us a chance.
