I don't know if he would have been any good here.  For those who think we have had a good OL ... then ya, he probably would have.  It was a good choice for him that we "messed that one up".

Not getting him put our depth in flux. He may not have been great but he would've been better than what we had.

Gotta be so pleased with our Huskers getting drafted thus far.  It's a nice outcome.  So glad to see Cam go so high.  Hope he becomes a staple in the NFL and has a better career in the NFL than Remington.  That is possible.  He can become whatever he wants.

I was bummed to see him go to the Eagles and also to see Breece Hall go to the Jets.  I realize Breece is not a Husker, but I've enjoyed following him and was a fav I wanted :bigredn:.  I think he will be a good pro.  It seems tougher for a RB to have a long career and make it to the Hall of Fame ... but I think Breece will be a great one [but I hate the Jets].

Ah...Breece Hall...The coaches messed that one up.

Crazy... a right handed QB running right.  You ever see a right handed QB run left and try to throw down field accurately while still moving?  Not many guys can do that.  He is "wired" the same as every other right handed QB.

So you are saying the whole teams needs to improve... got it.

Very much taking what I said out of context. Of course if he's left handed it'd be the same way. He was a nice running QB but at times he left yards off the field because how he ran. I get some of that was to not take hits.

Yep...there were a lot of things that Adrian had zero to do with and if they aren't fixed Casey won't be much help.

I'd still consider 7-5 this upcoming season to be a disappointment, given this schedule. I know that in our current state their are no "gimmes" or "guaranteed" wins, but still.

I would only be ok with 7 if they win the bowl and look solid doing so. Getting 6 or 7 (W/o a bowl win) would be the worst thing to happen to this program. I even think another bowl less season would be better. That way a new staff can be hired. I won't be able to handle being stuck in the middle.

Absolutely. I have Stockholm syndrome when it comes to Nebraska football these last couple of years.  I am expecting much better quarterback play though and I think that has to account for at least five or six more wins. I don't want to put it all on Adrian but man could he find some ways to really help us lose the game at times. That Michigan game where all he had to do was run left and he chose to run right in the middle is pretty inexcusable when it comes to a senior quarterback in a big game like that or any game really. That part is in the past it's done and over with I'm looking forward to the future I think Casey Thompson's going to win us a lot of football games

We'll need a much better run game to take pressure off of Thompson. A huge part of our woes have been poor field position, special teams and an inefficient offense, that Adrian played a part in. The defense still needs to force more turnovers as well.

For whatever reason, Adrian is/was wired to run to the right whenever he ran, especially on broken plays. I've noticed times if he ever scrambled to the right he'd keep moving right until he eventually went out of bounds, sometimes going in a near horizontal line. Even if he could've gotten an extra yard or two just turning upfield.

There are second graders who haven't seen Nebraska beat Wisconsin or Iowa in their lifetime. I think it's more realistic that we end one of those losing streaks this year and not that we beat at least two of Wisconsin/Iowa/Minnesota on our way to a Big Ten West division win.

I love the optimism by their FPI, but this team has worked hard to find creative ways to lose games, and this coach has not shown the in-game management necessary to overcome our own ineptitude.

This seems wildly optimistic. Especially when a lot of folks see the Northwestern game as a tossup - and this FPI says the Wildcats are going to struggle in the West.

Biggest factor is the schedule is the easiest it's been in years if not ever in since being in the Big Ten. If it wasn't for those things you mentioned, that percentage would be much higher. 29% isn't saying much at all. All in all agree here

We need o line and d line much more than another transfer TE most likely  similar to the 5 we’ve got.

Agreed. I think you can get by with TV (gotta basically put bubble wrap on him until the season), Hickman, Brewington and a combination or one of the RS Fr.

Even Wondel isn’t  that good cutting in small spaces. He has to be at full speed to make a defender miss. I notice that when he seem to never elude defenders closing on him on short passes. But with that said, he turned into a great big-play threat for Kentucky. I just don’t think he was coached and utilized well with the Huskers.

Wan'Dale shouldn't have been used as a RB as much as he was. He was best suited playing out of the slot with an occasional backfield carry imo.

+1, Allen looks to lack some top end speed to put it away after he breaks out. That, or he's just even more cocky than he already appears and he runs slow on purpose lol. Half of his runs are him turning around at the 30 and starting to slow down.

Hey, I'll take some RB confidence.

I think he has enough. Most of the battle is finding creases and making 2nd level defenders miss, and I think that's where he's stronger than many of our recent RB recruits.

No one really knows what his 40 time is. But it appears he doesn’t get caught from behind, so he is at the very least fast enough.

It'd be willing to bet if he gets in the open field,  which his short area ability will help, he's doing a lot of damage.

With he and E Johnson, perhaps one of them will see some playing time next season. But the emergence of Yant — he has been working hard — and now with Grant, we may see a battle between them for the starting role. But we shall see how spring practice goes first and go from there. I also can’t ignore IG if he is 100 percent healthy. But I see R Johnson as only serviceable, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he doesn’t even make the top three backs next season and then transfers.

Think EJ redshirts if he's not contributing to the return game. It will be a heated battle between Ervin, Yant, Grant and Allen. RJ is too valuable as a pass catcher and in pass pro out of the backfield to leave imo. Think Whipple does a better job getting him the ball in space. I do think Stepp moves on.

Kind of a sidebar from the conversation, but was interested after seeing that Casey talked with Tim Beck about NU before transferring.

It's a damn shame Beck had such a particular struggle pop up from time to time as an in-game playcaller. His offense was fun, inventive and the perfect modern reimagination of what made Nebraska Nebraska for so long. In the future I wouldn't at all be upset to see Beck come back as a Co-OC - he designs the offense and someone else with a better feel for flow and strategy calls the actual plays.

Beck's issue was never concepts, always in-game scenarios.

They would have a great RB and solid OL but what weapons? I think their top 2 WR and TE are gone.

It would make them more formidable but they don't have anyone that would make an elite secondary have to prep for extensively. His former teammate Mario Williams was rumored to go where Williams went but there was no way on earth he'd go to Wisconsin.

    Might wanna re-read that tweet.

I read it just fine. Doesn't change the fact the one that blew the MSU game isn't worth his scholarship
