Honestly, if it is Graham I don't know what the plan is other than he will put really good assistants with him and really good athletes. Graham will get good QBs to sign here. Our strength right now is at the skill positions so Scott might feel like this would be an easier transition, and it would blend well with Mickey Joseph? Idk.

Assuming he gets a QB from the portal. Smothers is not ready to run the air raid

Please no.  Just no.  If that's Frost pick, he should have never been brought back.  That means we have truly reached the bottom of the list.

To be fair, the guy has had a Top 25 offense like 5 years in a row.

Has anyone given credence to the fact that people also apply for a job and the HC and AD kind of choose after interviews? I understand that in the big market for HC, teams pursue hires. SF said two weeks ago that he was pleased and surprised at how many quality candidates had made contact with extreme interest. Maybe we haven’t struck out and aren’t in a panic.

I'd say the best case scenario is we have 1A choice who is still deciding and if not we have a back up plan ready to go if 1A declines.

Or we swung and missed and now we need a miracle from all the staff turnover.

  4. Everyone relax, I just was just talking to my terrarium guy and he was over at Scott's place switching out the succulents. He saw him facetiming Joe Brady. Needless to say, Frost was drunk, crying, and screaming "A BLANK CHECK, JOE". My guy says Scott gets this way when he drinks gin, but Brady seemed interested.

Does this mean I might have to eat my socks! I'm trying, I'm really trying to give him an honest look. I'm just not seeing it aside from a Texas connection. Maybe there's an argument college head coaching wasn't his strong suit OC a better fit.

His offense at Auburn in 2020 was not great and everyone was fired anyways.

Leaning more towards Morris.  He coaches in the Texas State title game tonight(you know that thing that is a pretty huge deal in that state) and probably asked for an announcement to wait until afterwards to not distract his team.  Added bonus, his kid comes as well and you more than likely have your starting QB next year.

He would be such a let down and really confirm the lack of interest. Also his son already used his 1 time transfer waiver.

Yeahhhhh.... I don't see that happening. Baylor is on the rise, and we've been on the decline. Gonna have to target a guy who would make a significant pay raise from what he's currently making.

Grimes is only making like 500k, we could easily double his salary. Not saying it's likely, though.

Time will tell…I hope you are right…so far two players are out and I believe more will follow. I just hope that what we get from the transfer portal is better than what we lose.

Well I would expect a healthy amount of attrition from the bottom of the depth chart. That’s the new era of college football. That said, after the player drama, if starters start entering the portal you might be right.

It means Nebraska isn't bringing in talent.

For every transfer from a G5 or FCS that turns out to be a Toure there are 10 that get buried on the depth chart.

Is like when fans think that some 2* player is the next JJ Watt. The odds are against it.

Dude all the FIU players have multiple P5 offers with 1 having over 15.  It’s clear you’re prepared to die on this hill, so enjoy.

I think it will be Jeff Grimes as OC/OL

Broyles Award Finalist with Baylor (OC/TE)

1st year OC at Baylor - 8th in nation in rush yards pg, and 4th in nation rush yards per attempt (Baylor was awful the year before Aranda hired him)

3 years previously he was OC at BYU (Zack Wilson, amazing offense)

That's telling that can be successful with a running style or passing game.

    Also,

20 years as OL coach (LSU, Auburn Natl Champs, BYU, etc..)

When he played in college, his OL coach was Andy Reid.

He's an OL guy through and through, and a great OC.

Boost his pay from $500k to $1mil

    https://baylorbears.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/jeff-grimes/1662

Just a strong hunch.  But if I am right, I want cookies and koolaid!

I will donate $25 to the charity of your choosing if it is him.

It's just hilarious and sad that it took Frost being on the brink of getting fired before he started leading an effort to actually fix special teams.

Better late than never - but holy crap...

To be fair, they did bring Culp who was All Big 10 until he lost the eye of the husker. Cerni was supposed to be a guy too.
