Today, the Littlest, Toughest Husker of them all took his last round of chemo. Here's hoping it's his last - ever. The 7-year-old from Atkinson, Neb., paused and looked up at the big screen at Omaha Baseball Village outside of TD Ameritrade Park. His now famous run during Nebraska's spring game was on. @TeamJackHoffman Jack is out of port surgery @ChildrensOmaha. Chemo port is out and he is in recovery. All smiles. 2day is also 2 year craniversary-10/10/11 Again, not a guarantee that everything will be OK forever, but this is a huge step forward. Oncologists aren't keen to remove chemo ports if they think there's a likelihood of them being used again. Jack probably isn't totally out of the woods yet, but he's standing at the edge, looking a a bright, sunny field full of hope. It's a damned good place to be after what he's gone through.
