requesting a sticky in husker football

hack

Recommended Posts

i'm doing this at the request of some friends at work.

my friends work with a guy at Union Pacific by the name Rick Janecek. he's a nice enough guy and he's had a string of bad luck.

he was working on a retaining wall in his yard and moving bricks. as the story goes, he was twisting with a load, heard a 'pop' and felt some of pain.

anyhow, he went inside his house to rest. he felt a little bit better. then his wife called him for dinner. he tried to get up out of his chair.

thing is, he couldn't move.

Rick was taken to the hospital and the doctors found that he herniated a disk in his back that left him paralyzed from the waist down. The doctors are not sure if he will ever walk again.

now the thing about Rick is that wasn't exactly an unhealthy guy. he was quite active before hand, but now he's gotta make a lot of changes around his house to make sure he can get around. and of course, there are the bills that won't be covered by his insurance. and rehablitation with the eventual hope that he may one day walk again.

all this is going to cost money. lots and lots of money.

the friends of the Janecek family have put together an auction and any bids are welcome.

which brings us to this item...

Husker_Helmet_001.jpg

this is one of the items up for bid: a mini-husker helmet with autographed by the entire husker staff. if you look around the 'N' you can see the holy trinity of Callahan, Cosgrove and Novell. feel free to bid on it if you wish.

additionally, there are husker tickets to the Troy game on Sept 23. i don't think the game is going to be televised, so if you want to watch Zac Taylor and the Boyz run up the score on this one you'll have to do it live.

there are other things also up for bid, but these look to be the most germane to this board's interests. all comers welcome and participation is appricated. the auction will close on Sept 15 at 5pm CST.

if there's a way to get put up as a sticky in Husker Footaball, the Janecek family would be very thankful.
