slacker Posted January 9, 2007 Share Posted January 9, 2007 Irregular News for 01.09.07 Charleston, WV -- Police need your help to identify and catch two women accused of stealing purses and going on a shopping spree with the victims' ATM cards. The crime happened December 27 at the Charleston YMCA. Police say the suspects cut the locks off lockers in the women's locker room and stole three purses. Take a look at the pictures below. They're from the Kroger at Ashton Place in Charleston. Police say almost immediately after the purses were taken, the suspects went on a shopping spree through Charleston---at the Kroger, Wal-Mart, and even a bank. But the catch here: police say the suspects called the victims almost immediately after the theft---and pretended to be the bank, asking for the victims' ATM personal identification number (PIN). Two of the three women gave them their PIN. Police say the suspects got away with more than $1,500. They appeared to be driving a newer model silver Pontiac G6. If you can identify or have any information about these women, call the Charleston Detectives at (304) 348-6480 or 348-6400. Police urge you to NEVER give your personal information to anyone who calls you. If you initiate the call, they urge you to be careful, but say that's the only safe way to give information over the phone. source Quote Link to comment
