Ex-Husker Kroenke called up to Trenton

Former Husker pitcher Zach Kroenke, who was drafted by the New York Yankees in 2005, was promoted from Tampa in the Florida State League to Trenton in the Eastern League on Monday. (AP)

 

Former Husker pitcher Zach Kroenke was called up by Trenton in the Eastern League.

 

The Omaha Northwest graduate was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft and had been with the Yankees’ Class A team in Tampa, Fla.

 

This season, he is 2-2 with a 0.42 ERA in 13 appearances.

something really cool happened to me while i was on vacation in new york.... i read about zach in the new jersey paper about how he was doing well and had the save for that game and they were talking about how well he was doing...it was really cool to read about a lil bit of nebraska in the CITY
