formerfan
The word I hear is that Auburn is giving up on him because he has a 1% chance of making grades. the exact quote I heard was "Powe will be playing on Thursday nights". Sounds like a perfect fit for callahan's recruiting style, 5* player that will make the class rate high, but cant qualify due to grades, meaning it was a wasted scholarship offer. More smoke and mirrors. Quote Link to comment

Eric the Red
Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 0% But at least, unlike the past, he considered Nebraska. He surprised everyone by choosing LSU over Auburn. But as we know his grades are a problem. He has commited to LSU via Army All-Star game Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
It appears what many of us were saying about Powe, he will have to go to a juco. All the hubbub about nothing Quote Link to comment

Eric the Red
The last few months of recruiting should be made into a sitcom. This guys a joke. Let me tell you, you have to try hard not to be able to pass high school. Quote Link to comment

Eric the Red
Rebels star recruit denied eligibility JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Prized recruit Jerrell Powe will not play for the Mississippi football team this season. The school announced Saturday that Powe has been denied eligibility by the NCAA Clearinghouse. The 6-foot-3, 330-pound Parade All-American from Waynesboro, Miss., originally signed with Ole Miss in 2005, but failed to meet academic requirements and enrolled at Hargrave Military Academy. He again committed to Ole Miss in February. Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron had high hopes for Powe. He believed the freshman would make an immediate impact on the team, calling him a "defensive lineman extraordinaire." "You know Cortez Kennedy and Russell Maryland?" Orgeron said of Powe in a July interview. "He's the next one. He's a man." Quote Link to comment
