It's the 11th consecutive season Nebraska will be favored to win the Big 12, and 2007 marks the third straight year that Pavan was named preseason player of the year. In both 2005 and 2006, Pavan went on to grab the league's regular-season player of the year award. Nebraska, which opens practice Wednesday, also led the league with five preseason all-Big 12 picks. Joining Pavan on the honor roll are Tracy Stalls, Christina Houghtelling, Jordan Larson and Rachel Holloway. Texas, which like Nebraska returns a roster loaded with talent, was picked to finish second in the conference.
