If you prefer to use your own IRC client, here are the settings:

server: huskerboard.com

port: 23 or 1997 (not the default 6667)

channels:

#Huskerboard - General Chat

#NUvsTX - Game Day vs TEXAS

Keep it clean! GO BIG RED!!

:bonez:hellloooo:restore

Also - just a reminder to keep it clean. If you abuse the chat, we'll ban you from the entire server, forums included. Be respectful. Same rules as the forums.

PLEASE TRY TO USE THIS!

The Husker Football forum has been used more of less as a chat room in the last couple days and it's driving us and the server nuts.

Oh and everyone please give a big shout out to Dave. He's helped us tremendously over the last week. Without him, I wouldn't be writing this right now!

Hate to sound stupid, but what is an IRC?

Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a simple, but effective, way for multiple users to communicate with each other in an environment that most likely equates to your local bar

Unless you use another chat client that can join IRC chat rooms, you are using the Java-based client at http://huskerboard.com/chat. If that isn't working, make sure your Java environment is up to date.

You can do this by going to http://java.com and clicking the big FREE DOWNLOAD button. Let it install the latest Java environment and then restart your computer. After that, try to join the chat again.

If you are still having trouble, post and we'll try to get it figured out.

We are trying to use the chat not only for game days, but for organized chats as well. Stay tuned!
