Appetizer:

I have made these hot wings and they are very good. Make alot of them if you are going to have a party...they will go fast. I go by looks of a recipe sometimes..so adjust ingredients as needed. I would pick up some extra Hidden Valley Mix..just to be safe that you have enough.

Herbie's Hot Wings:

24 chicken party wings or drummettes

1/2 cup butter, melted

1/4 cup hot sauce-I use Frank's

3 tsp.s vinegar

2 pkgs.s Hidden Valley Salad Dressing Mix

1/2 tsp. paprika

Paula Deen's House Seasoning

Paula Deen's House Seasoning:

House Seasoning:

1 cup salt

1/4 cup black pepper

1/4 cup garlic powder

Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container. I have mine in a shaker by the stove for convenience.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Wash chicken and pat dry with a paper towel. Sprinkle chicken with Paula's House Seasoning & paprika.

Mix melted butter, Frank's hot sauce & vinegar together in a bowl.

Dip chicken in the hot sauce mixure.

Put chicken in a baking pan. Sprinkle the chicken with 1 pkg. of Hidden Valley Dressing Mix. Make sure you get both sides of the chicken.

Bake for 30 minutes approximately- or until chicken looks done-the last time I made this..I cooked it longer..eyeball it.

Make dip from second pkg. of Hidden Valley Dressing to dip chicken in.

I have made the Little Smokies too and they are good.

CROCK POT LITTLE SMOKIES

2 packages Cocktail wieners

1 medium bottle chili sauce

1 medium jar grape jelly

Combine in Crock Pot and cook on low 6 to 8 hours

Dessert:

Cherry Crisp Pie:

1/4 cup margarine

3/4 cup quick cooking oats or Old-Fashioned Oats-I use Quaker Oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

1-(21 oz.) can cherry pie filling

1-(9 oz.) prepared graham cracker crust

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat & stir in oats, flour, brown sugar, pecans & cinnamon. Spoon pie filling into pie crust and spead. Sprinkle oat mixture over top. Place pie on baking sheet to prevent spills in the oven.

Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 40-45 minutes or until topping is golden brown.

Cool on a wire rack and refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.

Put cool whip or dream whip on top when you cut a slice of pie..optional

This roast is very good for making in the crockpot. I like oven roasted roast beef better..but..this is the best crockpot roast that I have ever made. This recipe will make your whole house smell wonderful:)

Main Meal:

To Die for Crock Pot Roast:

Ingredients:

1 beef roast, any kind...we don't like the round kind..use the flat roast kind

1-(1-1/4 oz.) pkg. dried brown gravy mix

1-(1-1/4 oz.) pkg. dried Italian Salad Dressing Mix

1-(1-1/4 oz.) pkg. dried Ranch Dressing Mix-I USE HIDDEN VALLEY DRY DRESSING MIX

1/2 cup water

Minced garlic

Onions, cut up

Sliced Fresh Mushrooms

Sliced Carrots

Garlic, Minced

Put the vegetables on the bottom of the crockpot.

Mix the dried mixes together in a bowl and sprinkle over the roast.

Put the roast in the crockpot and sprinkle the dried mixes over it.

Pour the water around the roast.

I put some minced garlic around the roast too and some on top of it. I put onions on the bottom of the pot..but..put a little on top of the roast and around it.

Cook on low for 7-9 hours. I start making it at 8 a.m. and we eat usually around 8 p.m.

**I cook potatoes seperatately to make mashed potatoes. They turn brown if using the crockpot and I don't like brown potatoes lol You can make the potatoes in another crockpot if you want to so they won't turn brown.

However...if you prefer..make the following recipe. I have made it and is very good. I like that you can make it in the morning or early afternoon..take a nap lol and bake it when you need it that night. This recipe is from a good friend of mine...Mo..she is one fantastic lady and cook.

MO'S POTATOES ROMANOFF

8 med. Potatoes (quartered)

2 TBSP Butter

1 cup Sour Cream

4 Green Onions (chopped)

1 ¼ cups Cheddar Cheese (shredded)

1/8 tsp Ground Black Pepper

1 tsp Paprika

Boil potatoes until tender. Mash with butter, sour cream, onions, ¾ cup cheese, salt and pepper. Turn mixture into buttered 1 ½ quart casserole. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and paprika.

Bake uncovered at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes.

Salad:

Make a lettuce salad in the morning with all of your favorite vegetables and refrigerate.

Bread:

Pick up some sliced garlic cheese bread at the grocery store in the freezer section and bake when you need it. It doesn't take that long to bake the sliced..5 minutes approximately.

I count the salad as a vegetable since it usually has all sorts of veggies in it.
