Hunter94
OK, looking back at last year's squad and play: Where did we get better this year? Where did we fail to improve? What area do we need to concentrate heavily on to improve in 2011? I don't have the season stats for offensive and defensive production, but i don't need them to know this, we had wayyyyyyyyy too many turnovers and the offensive line play was average at best, even without the injuries we expereinced in 2009. That being said, how do we survive the following schedule with less than 4 losses? oh yes, the zone read....i have seen enough of that scheme to last me awhile! TheCheshireCat
We were explosive on offense with a fully healthy QB against weaker defenses, something that wasn't true last year. That's about it. Unfortunately, we were predictable as hell otherwise and failed to score necessary points against better defenses. Oftentimes, as much as a touchdown would have won us or kept us in the games we lost. Quote Link to comment
MCAT800
Running game improved. However we placed the entire offense around one man and unfortunately D coordinators watch film and when they figured out how to stop him, Watson couldn't adjust. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
We won the Sun Belt last year while smashing each Sun Belt team we played with high yardage offensive performances. The common denominator for both years: we smashed the cupcakes. Well, except for SDSU this year, I guess. Whatever, we'll call the cupcake tour about even. And we played more ranked teams this year, but let's call that even as well. The difference on offense is +8 in points/game, +90 in yards/game (roughly). According to ESPN, we finished #22 this year in Total Offense. Up from #72 last year. Couldn't find the fumble statistics. The defense one just trends down so I won't post it; I've been largely happy with the defense this year, especially losing Suh and having to deal with a safety situation like we did early on.
