Big Ten teams excited about new championship game

In the past, one of the proudest football conferences in the country had to step aside and watch as other conferences, such as the Big 12 and SEC, took the national spotlight by hosting conference championship games.

 

Now, with the addition of Nebraska, the Big Ten Conference will have two divisions and host the first Big Ten Football Championship Game on Dec. 3 in Indianapolis.

 

During Big Ten Media Days in Chicago last week, players and coaches were excited about the prospects of having a league championship game.

 

Not only will the game bring exposure to the teams playing, but the other Big Ten schools will benefit from the increased attention to the league, as well as the financial gains the game brings.
