Rep. Joe Walsh yells at his constituents

Recommended Posts

Obviously they only have four or six years and why would they be raising money if they are not going to be able to be reelected try to keep up and people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!!

Look at the gaggle of freshmen Tea Party Republicans in congress... cheap whores who took Koch/Armey/Cheney/Rove/etc money raised from corportations who had previously done little to no damage.

Bingo. Easy and obvious example of why excessive turnover makes politicians even more susceptible to corporate interests.

That in comparison to career politicians who take us to the cleaners every day?!?! Have you seen what they made congress into. They have shoe shines and spas and gyms health insurance and golden parachtues. They are fleecing us like we are ignorant sheep. Well, at least some of us see the problem!! :dis

What? Golden parachutes and shoe shines? Good lord. I think you might want to turn down the talk radio.

I guess I missed the parts about golden parachutes and shoe shines? Perhaps you would be so kind as to point them out for me?

Or perhaps just post another article that doesn't even address your ridiculous claims?

What do you think a golden parachute means? I have a feeling it is a moving target based on whether someone is in congress or in the private sector. So why don't you tell me your parameters of a golden parachute and then I will understand you better. :sarcasm

Not at all. Correct me where I am wrong. You seem to believe that things like shoe shines are given to members of Congress. I provided information showing that they in fact pay for shoe shines out of their own pockets.

Your link showing that a shoe shiner was on a payroll doesn't mean that the government is paying for the shoe shine. I'll give you a quick analogy to illustrate. Someone works for Cost Cutters and receives a paycheck every two weeks FROM Cost Cutters. This doesn't mean that Cost Cutters is bearing the cost of giving haircuts to the public. The public pays Cost Cutters and Cost Cutters pays the person who cuts the hair. Hopefully this makes sense.

Now, if you don't mind . . . show me where these representatives or senators are getting free shoe shines. You said it's happening. Now prove your assertions or admit that they are hyperbole bereft of facts.

They did receive shoe shines for free at one time. If you look I believe they are still getting a discount on them at the expense of the people, same can be said for haircuts, the best gyms and many other perks!!

Why do you defend these govt officials who leech off of us and take advantage of everything they possibly can? :bad:dis

Still mad about the 1970s, are we? Your post seemed to hint that you were talking about a present problem. Personally, I think we have bigger worries.

Government official is not a dirty word. There are good and bad public employees . . . just like there are good and bad private employees. We could provide countless examples of each but it would be a waste of time.

No I meant now and all the perks, I threw the shoe shine in to show how trivial all the perk are and how they add up. We pay for a shoe shine boy, a barber, a gym. I mean do you really want these guys to have all this stuff. It's like they are going to a pagaent and need to get ready every day instead of working for us to reduce the deficit. I just feel they have a distorted view of what they should be doing. I wish they would worry more about the economy and less about getting their finger nails clipped. :dunno

I am against term limits.

The best way to take out the trash is to have real campaign finance reform.

well, term limits are a good thing I think and a law that outlaws anyone in congress from ever working for a lobbyist co.

Why are term limits a good thing?

It has already been generally agreed to here that bad politicians are a dime a dozen, and almost any dope can be elected with enough corporate money.

Hence, the need for campaign reform too. And if they buy any idiot then they can surely buy the coy ones who are good at deceiving the country. :thumbs

If we get real campaign reform, then the voters will do better in determining term limits during each election cycle.

Aren't you of the same ilk that thinks the American people are too stupid to make an informed decision. Most liberal elites feel the govt has to run every minute detail of our lives or we will hurt ourselves. How are we supposed to determine the right guy?

Most conservative elites want government small enough to fit in our bedrooms and wombs.
