Should Scott Frost become Nebraska's Offensive Coordiantor?

Recommended Posts

NU needs to see year two of Tim Beck's system. Taylor Martinez played scout team receiver/RB/DB and some wildcats QB in 2009. In 2010, he played QB in Shawn Watson's convuluted SpreadzonereadCoast offense. 2011 was his first season ever running Beck's system with option principals. He looked lost running the option early on and improved as the season went on. He also became a very good game manager while trying to progress within the scheme. Mastering the option takes reps, and Martinez will now have a whole Spring and offseason to grow within the scheme.

I believe the offense will take a pretty significant jump in year two. It was certainly inconsistent at times, but it will be much better off than seeing NU change coordinators, systems, and terminology again.

I can understand why a Michigan fan would seem unimpressed with the NU scheme after watching NU in Ann Arbor this season.

A: Give your defense some credit. They're playing defense as well as any Big Ten team right now.

and

B: Nebraska's loss was a culmination of special teams and focus blunders which takes a toll on all aspects of a football team. By the time NU really had the chance to try and institute any halftime adjustments, those adjustments were already useless because of how careless the Skers were with the football.
