CalHusker
Looks like Callahan is not going to accept any nonsense (good for him). Apparently Byron Smith got into some kind of issue with the law. There are no details yet, but it looks like Callahan does not even want to leave that door open, even a little bit. Eventhough the guy was not arrested, it sounds like it was more than a misunderstanding. This should send a message to the players that Neb. isn't desperate and looks at character as well as talent. http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_np=0&u_pg...38&u_sid=988405 Quote Link to comment
BigRedJohnson
Yes I was glad to see this. Its a statement like you said CH more than anything. It also probably has something to do with the fact that we're down to 6 schollies and BC probably feels confident we'll find a place for all of them. Quote Link to comment
CalHusker
Yeah, good point Big Red. This guy is a JC transfer that committed back in Nov. I bet Callahan evaluating the recruits and is making sure the scholarships are used in only the best way possible Quote Link to comment
Redout
I would be more willing to bet that this was just a way to free up another scholorship. He feels it can better be used on aomeone else. I'm sure he has a recruit on his mind. I don't think I buy that he's trying to send a message, but rather feels Smith isn't worth it. redout Quote Link to comment
