Lyons in the Sea of Red.
http://www.huskers.com//mediaPortal/player.dbml?&id=518258&catid=0&DB_OEM_ID=100&utm_source=internal&utm_medium=rotator&utm_campaign=lerotator It's pretty obvious this is the last thing Bo wants to be doing today. Update on rex, nothing really. "Day to Day" Thought abdullah and co played well. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
logical to sit rex for rest of game. Injury will not require surgury at any time. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
11 TFL, thought we left about 5 out there. Overall thought D played well, just need to fine tune some small things, but didnt have alot to prepare on so required alot of ingame adjustements. Breakdown on kick return, couple breakdowns, wont name names, 3 or 4 guys to blame. Had 2 guys go unblocked. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
Trouble in defending mobile QB doesnt just fall on front 7, it's front to back. UCLA:have bunch of talent. good skill postitions. Thinks players are excited to go out to cali, especially those from that area. They are looking for tickets. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
Recruiting in Cali will continue to remain an emphasis, thinks that it is a good area for us. May go do some recruiting on Friday night out there. Cotton will play on Saturday. Just a little dinged up, didnt feel need to continue to play him. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
Total guesswork going to USM game defensively. Required a lot of late nights and what ifs. Had to find a balance on what to show the guys and what to keep from them. Didnt want to overload them with information. Excited to paly in Rose Bowl, against a program with a lot of history. Will be somewhat similar preparation in regards to UCLA. Have a little bit more to go on, but mentality is largely the same. Thinks our defense has potential to be very good, in a number of postions, guys grew a lot in just being able to grasp the preparation for USM. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
Thought Taylor made really good decisions, couple things here and there. But overall, went through reads well, played well. Made his share of mistakes as well. Talks about Mora, thinks hes good guy. Met up a few times in NFL. Has a 3-4 background defensively. Bo seems like he knows quite a bit about Mora's coaching past. Has complete confidence in Maher, least of Bo's worrys. THinks he was trying to be an all american on every kick. Message to him is to just do what he does. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
Thought Whaley did good things, bad things, no different than anyone else. Made some good plays. Sloppy tackling in a few instances. Feels like first game to second game is when biggest jump in play is needed. Grass to field turf, not a huge difference. Most guys wear grass shoes anyways. Marlowe did have surgery, thinking the end of october as far as recovery. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
Mo is doing good. Hoping he will be available to play this week. Likes our secondary. Didnt really get tested a whole lot, is what I am sensing Bo is trying to say, without saying it. Thats it for BO. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
Taylor Martinez He has about 50 tickets. Never played in Rose Bowl, excited. Recruited by UCLA as safety. Grew up watching UCLA Glad he came to Nebraska. He is a little bit motivated that UCLA passed on him in recruiting, but not really. WOuld rather throw first, run second. Wants to throw 34 times a game, would be awesome. THinks recievers will always catch ball if we give them chances. Glad he got BIG potw. THInks he earned Becks trust last year. Wants to let recievers make plays. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
Doesnt care who he throws to, as long as their open. If Rex is hurt, knows the other guys can pick up slack. Took a good shot on the play when Marlowe got hurt. Goal is still 70%, if its over thats great. Felt more comfortable, Oline gave him a lot of time. All depends on gameplan, but will run or pass, depends on what D gives them. Best tempo theyve had, Beck got plays in fast. Thinks we got USM tired, but we were well prepared for the week. Wanted to get Kellogg some reps, was excited for him. Wants to score touchdowns, not settle for FGs. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
All the cali players are excited to go back home. Might meet up with Coach Calhoun after the game, if he comes. UCLA is great atmosphere. Thats it for Taylor. Abdullah next. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
Ameer: Patience and repetition was most beneficial for him. More comfortable this year. Ready to carry the load if he has too, doesnt want any drop off. Hopes REx will be back, doesnt know though. Wasnt aware REx went down until a couple drives after, thought he was just playing his game. Favorite play was pass protection! Takes pride in pass pro. Picked up some 300 pound kid on pass pro, other than that, osbornes corner route was favorite play. Got to fix little things, like out running the pulling guard. Marrow is a strong guy, very intense, passionate. Brings physicality. With him and Imani in backfield, he imagines thats pretty scary for defenses. Never want to be on minus side of turnovers, thought they did well. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
REx is never out of game, is always cheering guys on. Thats it for Ameer. Enunwa next Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
Quincy Enunwa: Ucla didnt really recruit him. Gives him a little bit of motivation, wants to show them what they missed out on. Thinks he did pretty well, will call it his breakout game if you'd like to. Taylor has always had gunslinger mentality, just never had opportunity to show it. THinks he worked more on footwork than actual motion. Dad gave him a list of 50 people for tickets, told his dad he has friends too. Thinks he had the one drop of the day. The WR corps worked on catching ball all off season. Doesnt have a nod or anything to taylor to signal he wants the ball, just lets taylor go through reads. Didnt think evans would be getting alot of PT, but was happy for him. THought on his 10 YAC catch, thought he might break it at one point. Didnt get on Bell for taking away his potential TD with his interference. Likes when guys put 8 in box. More open space. THinks we tired them out. Thats it for Quincy. Quote Link to comment
