I'll rephrase: I've noticed that a large number of scoring drives by Big Ten teams seem to include a very long pass play, giving me the impression (false or otherwise) that if you took away those drives that included that pass play, there would be a helluva lot less scoring in this conference. I imagine that it is a due to a collective lack of creativity on the offensive side of the ball, coupled with Big Ten defenses tending to crowd the line of scrimmage to stop the short game. It opens up the chance of connecting on the deep ball but makes for pretty predictable games with pretty predictable highlights week after week. Quote Link to comment
