Under Bo Pelini, Nebraska has established itself as a consistent top-25 team capable of winning nine to 10 games a year. Pretty apparent this guy is reading stat lines and hasn't watched a lot of our games. He is actually pretty dead on through most of the article but you can see he makes some big mistakes. Talk about throwing Taylor under the bus. He gives him absolutely no credit.

 

4. Taylor Martinez is never going to be a passer

He takes too many sacks, he throws too many interceptions, and his passes of more than 10-15 yards are basically mini-Hail Marys.

 

I think he is a little off the mark here. Taylor's Accuracy from 10-20 yrds was pretty damn good last year. He hit a lot of guys in stride in that area. Over 20 he is starting to approach truth. Can't argue with the sacks or interceptions too much, although one could argue he didn't have adequate protection when most of those mistakes happened.

 

Another beneficiary of the early-down passing: Kenny Bell, Martinez's primary quick-strike target who posted stats I had to double-check to verify. I like to think I do a pretty good job of keeping tabs of who's doing well and who isn't throughout the course of a season. But if you'd asked me what Kenny Bell's stat line was in 2012, I'd have guessed something around 40 catches, 500 yards, and 8.0 yards per target. Sorry for underestimating you, Kenny.

 

Yeah, well you weren't paying very much attention were you. And who exactly threw to Kenny for those 50 catches for 800+ yards, oh yeah Taylor. And a lot of those throws were on the money, and past 10 yrds down the field, dildo.

 

The only other thing that i really had problem with is that he, like most other writers, tend to forget that we lost Baker at the end of the season, and Thad Randyll would have been the starter over Cam if his knee wasn't so banged up.
