Silent Commit
Was the gift an inanimate object? Â Did the gift signify something to the nobleman; that is, did the gift itself carry some type of message that the nobleman would become insulted, scared, or "displeased"? Â You said "expensive", did the gift contain precious stones or metals? rare? bought or obtained at great expense? Â did the gift have some sort of utilitarian purpose? Â Could you place the gift in a shoebox? Â Could you wear the gift? Â Did the king know that the nobleman would be "displeased" with the gift? Quote Link to comment
