2025-2026 Portal Updates

They have no clue what their clients value is. They have no idea what they should demand or accept & they lack the contacts to achieve this behind the scenes. When you combine that with unrealistic expectations set to land clients and the desire to prove value to clients & potential clients it produces a lot of self-serving advice.

Go it. As if lawyers needed more oceans to scavenge in.

I’m sure it will eventually right itself, but right now it’s like Texas in 1880.

That would be bad enough right. An issue here is that many of these agents/representatives have zero professional background.

I'll provide a specific example. Vernell Brown III's father is an "agent". He's an assistant HS football coach at a school that cranks out D1 talent. NU signed a WR from that school this year. He's a former Gator and his son is a Gator. In other words, his experience is that he manages his son, & he has access to a steady stream of potential clients. He may very well provide adequate representation, but a player I know who interviewed him to become his agent was told his process was simply putting his contact info on the players socials so that interested parties could contact him. And this is a guy who should have a decent # of contacts simply because he's involved in a program that hosts an endless # of recruiters on the regular.
