I agree. Hence the maybe. And more a reflection of having brought Joe McGuire from HS ranks to Baylor. I think he could be a CEO. Go get funding, recruit, run social media, hit his and others podcasts. Dude is slick. As mentioned, could sell a comb to a bald man. I've been very vocal about his asst coach choices. Really not a fan of any f them. Now some of the 1st year guys (DL, OLB, DB's) get a pass (I'd like B1G experience). You got to work with what you have. But the year 3 guys haven't show a whole lot. In this day and age, I think 3 years will show you what you have. I am impressed with the top 5, 2027 recruit class, but that signing day is one more season and a whole lot more away from showing up here. We tank next season, I think that class goes away. The amount of complaining about multiple assistants would seem to indicate otherwise.
At least HC spots are filling up. Franklin to VT, USF to Auburn, Temple to UF...I just wanna know…..so days have passed now. Are we safe to say none of the current staff are getting asked to move on?
I just can’t fathom sticking with the staff we have as a whole and not making upgrades.
Dude...come on. Now you are just goofing around. How many football programs that Nebraska aspires to be would have fired Bo Pelini after 7 seasons based solely on his inability to get the team over the hump into conference and national relevance?
Available evidence say all of them.
Acting like the program has been helplessly crippled by actions taken 11 years ago by individuals long gone reeks of desperate excuse-making, not the reality of all those other programs enjoying dramatic turnarounds during that same time by firing and replacing coaches. A supernatural curse makes more sense than continuing to blame Eichorst and Perleman.
Can you honestly say that Nebraska fans are demanding too much of their coaches, much less the french kissing part?
Law of averages says Nebraska should have the chance to be Indiana or Vanderbilt or maybe even Arizona one of these years. That's the part that's hard to swallow.
I don't think anyone is getting let go, that doesn't seem to be Rhule's MO. Satt still being on staff at over a million to coach TE just makes me laugh.I just wanna know…..so days have passed now. Are we safe to say none of the current staff are getting asked to move on?
I just can’t fathom sticking with the staff we have as a whole and not making upgrades.
I don’t know if anyone watched the Illinois vs Northwestern game where Illinois beat Northwestern at home to a stadium that was not even one third full and I believe that Illinois would take us to the woodshed if they played us.
Dude...come on. Now you are just goofing around.
Anyway, Bo goes 11-1/10-2 this year, at worst.
I agree! I don’t know if that was intentional or not, but it was awesomeMy post was awesome and you know it.
I am willing to bet good money they would. Again, stats mean nothing when it comes to this team. You seem to be under the delusion that we are a good team. Keep eating up those stats. Bret Bielema will outcoach and outclass Rhule any day of the year. I have no doubt about that.Illinois beating Northwestern by the same margin that we beat Northwestern makes you think Illinois would take us to the woodshed?
Seems legit.
As I said ...When a coach takes a new job, it's both since he inherited players. In the old days the grace period for judgement was 3 or 4 years.
But in this day and age, a coach can only use that excuse for a couple years.
Deion is out of excuses, and probably soon, will be out of luck.
Cignetti doesn't need luck. He has the ability to identify talent, create chemistry and call plays.
The two men are a lesson in what works and what doesn't.
Our AD got played. Next season, win or lose, we'll know definitively, if we bought iron pyrite or the golden RHULE.
He’d go 9-4, as is traditionDude...come on. Now you are just goofing around.
Anyway, Bo goes 11-1/10-2 this year, at worst.
And I would take that gladly if it means beating Minnesota and Iowa. He’d go 9-4, as is tradition
WE complain about REfs not calling things, but they allowed us to beat NW at home by not throwing a flag on PI. Illinois style says that they would beat us, 28-10. They grind on you and then pass for 35 yds. Grind on you, touchdown pass. They are more physical and put together. Biggest reason, they have a winning record. We can not beat winners. Cincy might have been the only win that we have against a team above .500 on the season. Notice above .500, not .500 or better. Maryland sucked, Michigan St sucked, Northwestern is .500. UCLA was not good either. I think that sums up our wins for the year. Akron and Christian school of the blind don't count. I would also beg to differ that we wouldn't have beaten Cincy if we played them in October or November. Keep buying the fluff, keep seeing the lack of progress. We have not beaten a good team for along time. We don't compete.Illinois beating Northwestern by the same margin that we beat Northwestern makes you think Illinois would take us to the woodshed?
Seems legit.
