Dylan Raiola

What a horrible take. Dylan worked tireless on and off the field to promote the university and we couldn’t even give him an average line to operate behind. Sure, there were flaws that were exposed, but we did nothing to migrate them. Then ‘fans” turned on him like wild animals to wounded pray. He was pretty wrapped up in the program and he has every right to look elsewhere.

Maybe once the toxic fan base gets pared out, we can resume winning again. Let it burn and build it again. Greatest fans my butt
Honest question. Did he do all of this out of the goodness of his heart or was there an ulterior motive for all of this. Building "his" image. If it truly benefited the team/university it was a bonus. And in the day of NIL, who knows what is stipulated in the NIL deals....Go to this, go to that, make this public appearance etc...I am admittedly jaded, but who knows anymore.

Some mobility vs no mobility would be a significant improvement.

All other things being equal, of course having “some mobility” versus no mobility is desired.

But what are we going to trade off?

We’re about to find out. I’ll be first in line to talk about how dumb we are if whatever QB we roll out this year severely underperforms what Raiola does at his next stop.

After watching Rhule and Holgersen pressers I get the impression they are not surprised or concerned.

Yeah…but there’s a real possibility that they’re both idiots. Seriously.

Rhule is seeming like he’s a much better salesman than he is a football coach.

I couldn’t care less how they’re giving interviews right now. It’ll be obvious after the transfer window closes whether they knew what they were doing or not because Lateef isn’t good enough to be the guy next year.

He definitely was a great face for the program and was the best QB we’ve had for quite some time, but was also probably required to do x amount of publicity etc from his NIL deal (just a guess).

Our O-line was basically trash at pass blocking, but the dudes fam was the coach and it would seem the Raiolas always came as a package deal so you can’t complain about Dookey O-line play when it would seem one of the conditions for him coming here was Unc coaching the O-line.

He just kind of comes off looking like a baby; things are not going well and he takes his ball and goes home vs being a leader and trying to help fix it. Dude has a history of changing up programs to suit what’s best for him and no one should be surprised that his (and other players) relationship with NU was transactional in nature.

Dude is basically a professional athlete and has made more money by the age of 20 than most normal people make their entire adult lives so I don’t thing some mean social media comments from random people should bother him all that much.

It’s not personal, it’s just a business now. No one should have any hard feelings. Dude was paid to do a job and has decided to change employers.

You know, I have no idea. He appeared super genuine. But what a bad look for “the greatest fans” to turn on him only after a devastating injury. And there some that said he was soft and faking it. Just super cringy. I’m starting to see the point of Mike Gundy’s “I’m 40….” Speech. Paying athletes seems to have brought out dark rooted fan entitlements.

And then you have the whiners that can’t understand why guys don’t want to play for us. These “bro’s” must be gems in real life.

And I don’t disagree at all, but I’m getting the idea that payment=right to berate.

And does bashing a player actually get them to perform better. To not make mistakes? I think it’s the opposite. They’re just not invested anymore. Does it make us an attractive program? We apparently don’t have the NIL $ other programs have, so really need to work all the soft angles.

Blaming the fans for Dylan leaving is wrong on every level.

Best QB we've had since Casey Thompson, I guess? Better than Sims and Haarberg, but so are just about any other FBS QBs. Dylan had a high completion percentage, but that's about the only thing noteworthy about his stats. Thompson could at least throw a deep ball to Palmer, lord knows Raiola never figured out how to throw deep...

what a bad look for “the greatest fans” to turn on him only after a devastating injury.

psst! the Raiolas had already turned on Nebraska before the end of the season...

I'd prefer at least a semi-mobile QB. I don't think Nebraska will ever have the line or recruit in the Top 10 to run a pro-style offense very effectively like Michigan or Alabama was. I like the extra threat of running the ball just not to the point of running him 20 times a game which leads to turnovers and injuries nor do I want a mobile arm punter.

😂🤣🤣🤣 Wow... Seems like you should rush out and get yourself a team coach... 🥴🤔💪
