Husker QB - TJ Lateef

Against P4 competition, Lateef completed 57% of his passes at a 6.0 ypa clip. He ran for a total of 66 yards in 4.5 games.

Take out soon-to-be 3-9 UCLA with an interim coach, he completed 51% of his passes at a 3.8 ypa clip. He ran for 35 yards in 2.5 games.

Please use 60 seconds of your day on this video to realize you're talking foolishly. If you don't have 60 seconds just watch the first 2 plays.

Lol - you post a highlight reel of mostly Akron and HCU that includes like 7 passes over 10 yds in the air. He threw 250 passes and this was a highlight reel. I could make one of Haarberg look pretty much the same. He made some good passes over 10 yds. Just not many

Watching Simms play. He just turned the ball over at the 20 heading towards a score. That's one positive so far with LaTeef. Young, but he throws the ball away and no TOs. Definately was overthrowing people today after they got behind. But settled down with different throws called on the last drive before they put in Harberg.

Lateef misses too many throws that are not even close to being catchable. So no turnovers is nice but you have to give your own guys a chance.

Yep.

But on the last drive everyone questioned the play calling he was making the short throws and with the runs they moved the ball. That sort of drive in Q3 keeps the score managable versus the 6 yards or whatever they got.

Keys dropped a couple catchable passes. Iowa got a hand on a couple more including one in the endzone that was a good throw on a scramble.

But Lateef isn't necessarily the problem when Iowa puts 40 on you. I blame the 3-3-5 and any QB that can run the ball.

Definitely not the problem, but he didn’t do much of anything special either.

I'd like Dylan to return, as I think he is the more talented of the two, but if we can get like 4 talented o-line/d-line men in his place with that money, we'd be better off. I don't think TJ will cost much to keep, we just need Dylan to make his decision quickly before TJ bails.

I’ll throw something crazy out there.

Let Dylan leave and go after Nico Iamaleava. He took poor advice from the family and he’s been humbled.

I know it's not realistic, but I'd like to see both Raiola and Lateef stay. I think Raiola can be great with some tweaks to the offense and a more consistent run game. I think Lateef just needs more time to develop. In the first half, he threw at least 4 passes that should have been absolute dimes caught for big plays, but the receivers didn't catch them. I know the second half was terrible, but he has a lot of potential.

I don't like either QB. Dylan is accurate, but no mobility. Sitting duck, to easy to blitz and sack. TJ has more upside being more mobil, but his passing is suspect. If we keep Dylan, then you have got to get better line play and better receiving play. TJ would take less upgrades around him to get better. I feel for us to get the best version and for the team to improve the most Dylan would require a whole team rebuild. TJ would just need some development and maybe a few better players, not a whole roster improvement. The defense regardless needs a makeover.
