Malaysia Airlines 777 Down in Ukraine

Given Russia's actions in the past 6 months, I don't get why anyone is rushing to their defense. Ignorance, maybe

Remember Iran Air Flight 655? Civilian passenger flight that was shot down by the United States guided missile (SAM) in international waters. The US crew incorrectly identified the Iranian Airbus as an attacking fighter. IFF squawk (ID) was working fine. Opps!

In MH17, probably untrained and/or panic comrade accidentally press the wrong launch button. Opps!

Bush is responsible? Putin is responsible? What's the gain? No, neither guys are responsible. Bottom line, trigger happy, both sides.

Yep, journalist circus clowns and social media jokers are coming to town

No, a BUK (assuming that's what it was) AA launcher is not something that a can be operated by a single, trigger happy ignorant button pusher. That's just a complete bullsh#t notion. It's a complicated piece of equipment that requires a multiperson crew of trained individuals. That training does not just materialize out of thin air.

How do you know? You already trained a Russian SAM procedure in top secret manual? COULD BE a simple and one button launch OR complex procedure.....who knows.

Because I read and watch various news sources and every single one has stated as much. They're complicated AA setups operated by multiperson crews with radar and tracking designed to shoot down enemy military assets (including fighters). Every single report has indicated they require significant training to operate.

Who knows? Apparently everyone reporting about the systems. Next?

news sources = pure rumors

I was stationed at Det.10 Hastings Nebraska and I was trained in both maintenance and operator on MPS-T1 set .... re-engineered (copycat) from a captured and real Russian SA-2/3 SAM radar and guided missiles. Our three guys assigned to radar and tracking skills, range, azimuth and elevation consoles, kinda like SAM vs. B-52 EWO war games. And you're right, complex RADAR and TRACKING skills. But another guy responsible to launch controller. I remember two switches side-by-side ..... one switch armed (ready to go) and another switch, launch command (blast off - of course our set was fake S-Band missiles). In other words, radar&tracking crew and one-man missile(s) was completely different world. I know SA-2/3 era was semi-old but new models was roughly the same procedures ?? .... COULD BE. Don't sucker news gospel sources.

And I pictured a one-man shoulder arm stinger. BUK was simple deluxe stinger on top of vehicle. Both SAM's.

How about air-to-air missiles in fighter plane? Multiperson crews or one pilot responsible for radar-tracking-launchers? Theory was the same as BUK thing .... just bigger (target range)

My guess, maintenance was intense (pre-test before battle zone) and operator usage was simple if working properly.

I still believe possible lead: untrained and/or panic comrade (operator) accidentally press the wrong launch button. Or drunk fueled by vodka beverage.

Only two troopers fits inside BUK compartment, not multiperson crews. Side by side seats, one radar operator and one missile controller.
