However, since 2003 their non-conference record in these games have not been good. It seems as if the Shoe' isn't that hard of a place to play at night. 2017 No. 2 No. 5 Oklahoma Sept. 9 L, 16-31 - TBD 2014 No. 8 Virginia Tech Sept. 6 L, 21-35 - Finished 14-1, 1st in AP/Coaches - National Champion 2010 No. 2 Marshall Sept. 2 W, 45-7 - Finished 12-1, 5th in AP/Coaches - Vacated 2009 No. 8 No. 3 USC Sept. 12 L, 15-18 - Finished 11-2, 5th in AP/Coaches - Rose Bowl champion 2005 No. 4 No. 2 Texas Sept. 10 L, 22-25 - Finished 10-2, 4th in AP/Coaches - Fiesta Bowl champion 2003 No. 2 No. 17 Washington Aug. 30 W, 28-9 - Finished 11-2, 4th in the AP/Coaches - Fiesta Bowl champion For Buckeye fans the loss sucks but the Buckeyes still can have a good season.
