  1. I think that culture has been collapsed for a while. It's going to take Rhule at least a full season and one more offseason to solidify the type of culture he wants. It's going to take time.
  2. Colorado has receivers WIDE OPEN on crossing routes. Got to get that fixed in a hurry.
  3. I think it's a generational thing. For many older Nebraskans the Oklahoma/Nebraska rivalry will always be the rivalry which has also been a respectful rivalry between both fan bases. However, in the 90's when Oklahoma was down there is no question the Nebraska/Colorado matchup were the bigger, and much more heated games.
  4. Ok I'll admit it... I'm more amped up for this game than I ever am for any Big Ten opponent that we've played over the last decade plus. God how I miss playing our old Big 8 foes EVERY YEAR. GO BIG RED!!!
  5. THOUGHTS ON THE GAME: Defense played their hearts out, and it was so refreshing to see blitzes called when they should be. Special teams played very well, and they were physical. There were positives, but also familiar negatives. I'm sorry for the young man, but Anthony Grant needs to move down the depth chart. If he was having fumbling issues in training camp he should not have been in the game during that critical situation. (That's on the coaches). This game came down to Turnover Margin & Game Management. BIGGEST CONCERNS: Nebraska's only touchdown came off a trick play. Nebraska's best rushing offense was from our QB. (This is NOT sustainable for a full season). A QB run game is fine in managible doses, but if we can't get a normal running game going with our O-Line and running backs it's going to be a long year. FINAL THOUGHTS: When you lose six straight seasons it will take time and a lot of coaching to fix it. THIS. WILL. TAKE. TIME. Matt Rhule does need to sit down with Satterfield before the Coloroado game to re-evaluate the offense and especially the play calling from the 2nd half.
  6. Matt Rhule needs to sit Satterfield down before next week to really evaluate his play-calling in the 2nd half. Not a good look when you said you were commited to running the ball for 75 yards in the 4th quarter.
  7. Two words come to my mind that describe both the good and bad of this game for Nebraska... GAME. MANAGEMENT.
  8. We have all known that Nebraska is going to have to learn how to win again, and control our emotions in games such as this. There has been progress tonight. There has also been the same problems from the past. This will take time.
  9. Welcome to Nebraska Matt Rhule. When a team has had 6 straight losing seasons its going to take a long time to climb our way back.
  10. Win or lose there have been SO MANY teachable moments Matt Rhule can use in preparation for next weeks game.
  11. They do. This will just take time and coaching. If anyone can help them grow out of this it's Matt Rhule.
  12. Hey Big Ten refs... ...it's ok to call holding on Nebraska's opponent at least once in a while.
  13. Time to run for that "75 yards in the fourth quarter" like what Rhule was preaching during training camp. Time to ground and pound O-Line!
  14. I liked the home run shot on first down, but if you don't get it, you have to run the ball on second down...for no other reason than to tick some time off the clock.
  15. Well we know one thing they will be working on next week will be Red Zone game management.
  16. That QB-Follow play has been there all night. This play is similar to the one Osborne used against Washington over and over again in 1997. (Only difference is tonight we're running it from the Shotgun/Pistol while in 1997 we were running it from the Flexbone & I-formation) If they can't stop it...keep running it.
  17. I agree. It should be an extremelly egregious play that should warrant being ejected from the game.
  18. Targeting IS and HAS BEEN the worst penalty in the college game. Even the NFL doesn't have targeting! Just call a personal-foul and give the 15 yards, but no player should have to be ejected from the game on a play like what Ty Robinson was called on.
  19. A few thoughts on this: I'm not really a fan of the new one. I much prefer the original, but I can understand why some would like it. Was this even a needed change? From Hail Varsity - August 23rd 2018: The Unforgettable Origins of Nebraska's Blackshirts Logo
