  1. That is the link. I thought it was kind of ridiculous that USA today dugs this up. I expected a local tv station to pick it up and that would be the end of it. Some of the comments are a little rude. Like calling the behavior SEC like and not BIG Ten like. If our players are SEC like, instead of tearing off a paper towel dispenser, Chase Rome would have attacked some people at the airport mini-bar. He won't be suspended, most likely he will get a talking to about keeping him emotions in check and channeling his frustration in a positiive way on and off the field. Agreed, it's not Big Ten like at all, he didn't trade the dispenser for tattoos
  2. I'm posting here at knapplc's direction so on topic...thank you. Slightly off topic- I like this board. It's surprisingly receptive to other teams' fans. I may stick around (less obnoxiously of course)
  3. You're embarrassed to live in WI? Blasphemy! I'd kill to trade places and be back in that great state... nah but seriously it'll wear off with time, may take a little longer due to the WI bye though.
  4. Howdy Huskers, Quick question. Are K-State games worth going to? I recently relocated to Manhattan for work and this town is crazy for the Wildcats...are gameday experiences worth it if I'm not a fan? I'm thinking about going because they're decent this year and I need my football fix. I figure many of you have made the trip...
  5. Before this picture the sensitivity exhibited by husker fans perplexed me. Yes, we have a lot of rude fans (read students) at UW but I don't think I've ever heard this level of complaining from a visiting team. Now it all makes sense. Husker fans are kind of old...and old fashioned.
  6. QFT and on the "Crappy Stuff happens everywhere note" a fan died at the Carolina-Bama game last year after a fight at a tailgate and in the LSU-WVU game this year a Pregnant woman and her Husband were beaten so you just have to put it into perspective.
  7. A little off topic but it fits here with "Madison Experience"...a gallery of yesterday's action...some very cool pictures of both sides. One of my favorites... Is he a regular at home games? Kind of corny but still funny.
  8. I didn't see the Badger cheerleaders, but ours are quite cute. Well then they've got ours beat. Ours are Caspers. No joke. they're friendly spirits? Friendly, I cannot say. Spirited, they are. Exposed to sunlight? Nope. They have the Bill Clinton milky white thighs? Calcium-enriched, too. Well ours dress like its the 1950's so...yea
  9. here's something else NU beats UW at, having more good cholesterol. not exactly.... http://www.webmd.com...ls-in-28-states f#*k, our country is fat. What's scary is seeing all the little fat kids mowing over my kids at the park and other places they play. There are kids that are 4 or 5 that have a gut hanging over their pants. I live in Minnesota btw Can the Badgers have them? Sounds like some future O-Line men, lets get them signed Most of them are girls. Like I said, I live in MN. Well the times are a-changin', about time we got ahead of the curve. Besides, maybe adding some women to the team would balance out title 9 and lets us play baseball again.

  11. From reading these forums I've come to many conclusions. Mainly that Nebraska is the best university to ever field a football program, and Nebraskans are all beautiful, welcoming people who are definitely not obese. Curse my luck for being born to a fat family of badger fans, life just isn't worth living, I'm doomed forever to be rude, vulgar and underachieving athletically. Woe is me. If only we could all be from fair Nebraska, by far the greatest state in our illustrious union.
  12. They always do, I'm pretty sure this is how the civil war started

  14. Oh the whining, good god the whining. I've found something UNL beats UW in.
  15. I'd love to go to Lincoln, I still am most impressed with Auburn as far as hospitality goes though, maybe the Huskers can show them up.
  16. I guess I just expected more from Wisconsin fans. NU/UW have no real history in football. There should be no bad blood. Barry Alvarez is a former Husker and turned UW around. Like I said, Friday night, we met some pretty cool UW fans and shared drinks, laughs, and our mutual dislike of Iowa. Then after the game, I was just astounded at the anger towards us. It was like Nebraska just won by 40 points instead of the other way around. I wouldn't have even wrote the OP if it didn't seem like EVERY fan had something awful to say to us. Groups of 2 or groups of 20. Each group was just down right angry and let us hear it. Now, I'm not saying you won't hear similar stuff in Lincoln next year. The big difference is that it will be the exception to the rule, not coming from virtually every person you walk past. I will never go to a game in Madison again for that reason. I don't expect to be coddled and treated with kid gloves, but I don't expect to have every person you walk past treat you like garbage either. I also would have had nicer things to say if just 1 UW fan would have stood up for us and told the others to shut up, like you will see in Lincoln, or if perhaps, more than 1 person would have told us good game. I am really tired of hearing the Alvarez connection argument. Alvarez hasn't coached UW in more than a half-decade. This is Brett's team now and using your logic we should suck up to Iowa and the Hayden Fry tree now since we owe ALL our success to them now. What a bunch of crap, we're our own team. When Clemson played Auburn a few weeks back did you hear Auburn fans saying how Clemson owed them for Walter Riggs? Does UF owe Georgia Tech because of Spurrier's time in Atlanta? Do you guys owe Wyoming and MSU? No. Like I said we're our own team. Arguments like these and that picture of our "trophy case" posted in here are just stupid. /endrant
  17. Oh, the "If we're not nice to Nebraska you'll hold our economy hostage" card. Most people don't care, including myself. You're better off appealing to my sense of human decency than my pocketbook. that's just me.
  18. I'm sorry you did not enjoy your trip to Madison, that's too bad. We know it is the 1% who screw it up for all of us. I'm going to give it a couple of trips before I pass judgement on a fan base. I save the " Just like CU" for the real sCUm . To be honest I don't think your opinion will improve. The students will be students, we are known for having...hmmm how should I say, passionate...fans. All I can do is apologize and tell you that if you ran into me it would've been different.
  19. I have to ask, what exactly do you guys want when you travel? I went to an SEC school for my undergrad and saw many of the things mentioned above and worse (LSU especially comes to mind as does UGA). Maybe your expectations are a bit off. After all, you are invading another team's home, do you want to be coddled? What schools have you found to be welcoming and hospitable to visitors? UT? OU?
  20. I'm sorry you did not enjoy your trip to Madison, that's too bad.
  21. Someone is going to have to replace the CU, MU, TX, OU. in our football lives and WU will surely take a heated rivals place. Iowa doesn't count because we've hated them in our real lives since 1867. *UW, not WU. Sorry, just a small nitpick. On that note, why do you guys call yourselves NU as opposed to UN or UNL?
  22. Agreed that UW - Nebraska will probably become a rivalry (especially if they meet in the Big Ten-CG) you guys should reserve judgement until you run into Ohio State and Michigan fans before picking your "hated rivals", there are plenty of teams to hate, just wait.
  23. Fun, everyone stands the whole time, loud, but also stuck up in the corner of the stadium. Are there student sections anywhere that sit? What an awful existence if there are...
  24. Top programs don’t stay on top forever. Look at USC from eight years ago. They were unstoppable. Could recruit anyone they wanted. Yet only one month ago lowly Minnesota took USC down to the wire and damn near beat them. My point is that a few short years back USC looked like an unstoppable dynasty. Now the mighty Trojans have fallen off the map. Before long the LSU and Alabama will fall too. And somebody will fill that void. If we improve as much in the next four years as we did in the past four years it could be us at the top of the heap. But these things don’t happen overnight. And when setbacks happen--like last night--we just need to keep headed in the right direction. Up. Very True... Minnesota's Glory Years
