  1. Good catch Saw it. Assumed he was saying, "Man I wish I was playing for you instead of for this trainwreck of a coaching staff."
  2. In a HEARTBEAT!!! And anyone who'd want Bo over Urban doesn't know squat about football.
  3. Two coaches that are picking whichever NFL gig they want and when they want, and a guy that brings sanctions upon his return to the college level. Please try again Carroll has ONE player take money on the side from a booster in all of his years and all of his multiple NC's and you just automatically assume he will bring sanctions upon his return? Please try again
  4. Petrino underperformed as a recruiter. He's just a HELL of a coach!!!
  5. Well you better start cheering against Nebraska and Seattle then. Because only Carroll on your list is a very likely possibility.
  6. He won't. But he might not have a choice if they start losing. Which might happen sooner than later. They lucked out against Green Bay, beat a crappy Dallas team and lost to the Cardinals. Tough division, don't see playoffs for them, might not see the 4th year of his 4 year contract. Who knows. But even if the Seahawks show him the door, not sure he'd come to Nebraska and Nebraska would want him. Probably not the right fit. Big splash, instant recruiting boost, title hunt within a year or two are all probable though. Isn't he originally from Iowa? Not that it matters.
  7. And if you or anyone else thinks the pressure from Nebraksa fans is any different than any other major program, then you need to get out more. Coaches don't not want to come here because our fans want us to win. That's rediculous.
  8. I'll throw a few names out... Chris Petersen? (Did not know about his kid's health situation) Dave Doeren? (Lots of regional ties - KC, Wisconsin, Drake - he's a midwesterner) Dana Holgorsen? Gary Patterson? Pete Carrol? Okay not happening. But if we want to keep up with the Ohio States and Alabamas, that would be one hire that would put us on pace to do it quickly.
  9. And I'm tired of getting beat by every good team we face. Maybe you should look at the cause of the disease rather than the resulting symptoms.
  10. You this if Rex was healthy they wouldn't of scored 63 points on us? Rex being out didn't lose us either of the games, poor coaching did. Calling a zone read on your own 4 yard line? Calling 50 zone reads against OSU when our O-line is getting demolished... It's not Rex. Welcome to experimental golf pro high school coach first year yes men staff football. Pretty fun isn't it? Love Rex but wouldn't matter with or without him in either loss.
  11. I see all this as a real possibility right now. It will be interesting to see how the team responds after last night. I'm sure if the team rallies and ends up having a pretty good season, you'll support Bo with equal vigor. Not me. I don't have my head in the sand. I already KNOW for a fact that he is not the answer for Nebraska. MAYBE if we win out this year (not happening), I'd give him a little rope, but he's gonna hang himself eventually. I'd just rather it was sooner than later.
  12. IMO the NW game is the season and it doesn't look good for Bo because of the mobile QB issue. If/when we lose that game, we have Dennard the week after and likely another loss. That puts us at 4-4 and in a 3 game losing streak, so then you have the possibility of Bo losing the team aka 2007 with BC. Then it may not matter if the QB is mobile or not as the kids just wont' care anymore. Bo has two weeks to figure out a Mobile QB, if not then his tenure here may be over at seasons end. Oh how sweet that would be. I'll gladly take a complete melt down season as a sacrifice year if it meant getting Bo the hell out of here. And I wouldn't even feel bad about it. And to all of those saying we can't get a top coach...two words for ya: Money Talks Welcome to big time college football 2012. It's not being dominated by yes men experimental first year coaches and golf teachers. It's being dominated by MONEY!!!
  13. This would b the best thing that could happen to us. One step closer to this little Bo experiment being over. Time to take it like a bad aid and rip it off quickly. Dragging it out with more 8-9 win seasons is just prolonging the pain. And this is spot on!!! TO needed to make a PC hire to reunite the fans and that's exactly what he did. That time has passed. Time now for the next AD to make a WINNING hire! We are Nebraska!! Not Buffalo, not Kansas, not Ohio, not Wake Forest....NEBRASKA!!!!
  14. Still love how all you excuse makers selectively choose to overlook the fact that we tried scoring when it was time to take a knee against Arkansas State and we were up big. Tried punching it into the endzone with less than 2:00 left. But that was okay?
  15. Did any of you watch the Arkansas Satate game? We tried scoring when it was time to take a knee and we were up big. Ended up fumbling on the 2 yard line. Go back an rewatch it. Funny it wasn't a problem for you then.
  16. Ah...merged to meltdown thread huh? Does that mean all the sunshine pumper threads will be merge too? Doubtful
  17. After that embarrassment, we can't post unless we are positive? Exhibit A of heads burried....this board. What a joke!
  18. Just because I don't support Bo, that does not make me a bad fan. There were plenty more who didn't support Callahan. And as we continue to get outclassed and embarrassed against anyone half way deacent, more people will see the the truth about Bo too. Until then, the rest of you can keep your heads burried and standards low. And all those of us who are realists can hope for is more bad losses so this joke of a Pelini experiment can be over!!!
  19. Stop patronizing. Peterson CLEARLY is going nowhere. Golden sucks. We want the same level of coach that you guys want... I don't believe you would choose those two for your school. There are only 3 coaches on that level (currently coaching). And one of them will most likely be unemployed by the end of this season. Not saying he's a good fit at Nebraska or that he'd come here, but if Urban'esque is what you're looking for and you can't get Nick Saban (which you can't), Pete Carrol is your man.
  20. Yes, I take personal satisfaction in seeing a Bo meltdown. Not so I can brag and say 'I told ya so' but because it gets NU one step closer to having him gone. Good to see more and more of you coming around to the realization that he isn't the answer for Nebraska. Sad to see so many homers still with their heads in the sand, though. Oh well, time will take care of it. As the losses continue, more of you will realize it. I denounced my fandom following last year's bowl loss and national embarrassment of a coach who continues to do nothing but tarnish a once proud program. I quit posting and have been lurking a little since. Maybe I'll come back in another few months to celebrate Bo's firing and the rebuilding of the NU football program. Sadly, it will take several more losses to accomplish this. I can't/won't cheer against NU, but I'm not upset when they lose becasue unfortunately, losses are the only way to get back to winning as we need a different coach to do it.
  21. Whenever I complain about anything relating to Nebraska football, I'm told over and over again that "if you don't like it, then you should just find a different team to cheer for" or the always classic, "then you're not a real fan". I've never really understood this mentality. Why can't I voice my concern/displeasure without other fans telling me I'm a bad fan or I should just take my fandom somewhere else? But something occurred to me this year and maybe I get it now. Honestly, if I don't like it, there's nothing I can do about it. I'm not going to be able to change it and if I really don't like it that much, then my only real choice is to "take my business elsewhere". I have found myself less and less on board with the direction of the Nebraska football program lately. I do not like Bo Pelini. I never have. He's nothing like what I've grown up knowing and loving about Nebraska as a state, a school or a football program. He showed this when he was Solich's D-Coordinator and he has continued to show it many, many times since. He's an embarrassment to Nebraska football...both as a coach and as the face of our once proud program. I was tolerant (at best) of him as our coach in the beginning but I just have a hard time getting behind pretty much everything regarding the football program under his tenure. I have found myself in increasing disagreement with so many things like player development, recruiting, coaching hires, playing time, dealings with the media/fan base, personnel choices, and on and on and on, and on and on and on. The guy is a disgrace and everyone outside of Nebraska knows it. Don't believe me? Go read other team's message boards or look at the commentary/coverage from just about every media source out there. He is running this program into the ground even more than Callahan. And at the end of the day it has taken the wind out of my sails as a fan over time. The problem is, the general mentality of Husker nation is that he wins 9 games so you have to keep him around. I don't entirely disagree with this line of thinking as I think it is hard to justify firing a guy who wins 9 games. But most Nebraska fans have their heads buried in the sand so far that they can't or won't see that this is bigger than winning and losing. They can't get past the 9 win seasons and see the forest for the trees. They are so worried about the possibility of having a losing season that they don't realize the program is getting flushed down the toilet right under their noses. All things point toward much darker days ahead for Nebraska football. But until then, I'm just supposed to live with it until Bo starts losing enough games for people to realize it and he gets fired? Boy, that sounds like a great way to spend my time as a fan. I've been a Nebraska fan pretty much all of my life. Nebraska is my alma mater and I was lucky enough to have attended school there during 2 of their National Championships and live in Omaha for another. Nebraska gave me 30 plus years of some great football memories and my fandom for NU grew stronger every year throughout their time in Big 8 and then most of the Big 12 and even after I left school and moved away after graduation...through Solich, through Pederson and through Callahan. So the thought of switching teams seemed crazy at first. It's just not in my makeup to even consider something like that. There are a lot of bandwagon fans out there who jump from team to team and never really get behind one program for very long. Well, I'm not one of them. I'm an all or nothing kind of guy so this really seemed like an impossibility at first glance. But the more I thought about it and the more I was told by "real" Nebraska fans that I wasn't a "real fan" for disagreeing with state of the program and "if I didn't like it then I should find another team to cheer for", the more I thought why not? I really have no other choice, right? So, at the end of this season, for the first time ever as a Nebraska fan, I found myself at a crossroads. Given that I have no control over who Nebraska hires as a coach and he may not be going anywhere anytime soon if he just keeps beating the teams he is supposed to beat, I am left with really only two options. I can either live with my dissatisfaction or I can find a new team to cheer for. For me, life's too short to just sit back and take it and I'm a college football fan to be happy, not miserable. So I've decided to find another team to support. I get it now. I'm not a real fan despite the thirty plus years and tens of thousands of dollars I've given to the program. That's fine with me. I really don't care anymore and I'd rather not be associated with a program as long as Bo Pelini is the coach. Best of luck to all of you and thanks for providing a nice place to discuss my former team. Good luck with Bo...you'll need it.
