  1. Yep...that's what top-tier, national championship caliber programs do. Keep the bar high, baby!!
  2. Sadly, as extreme as some of your nonsense is, it actually probably has more potential for being accurate than the nonsense of the extreme homer who is ready to crown Bo as a great coach already because he's won 9 games every year for 4 years. I personally like to stay a little more down the middle on my views, but I get where you're coming from on a lot of stuff. I think a lot of your views are backed by fact and a lot of the sunshine pumper's views are backed by hope and blind faith. People who set the bar at Callahan and are happy with anything that's even a little better than what he gave us can kiss my rosy-haired rectum...you all deserve 9 win seasons, no conference championships and no BCS bowls. See how that works both ways?? And see how the bolded part can work both ways too? I could easily say that the successfulness of Bo's tenure here so far at Nebraska can be pointed out by facts while the "debbie-downer's" opinion is backed up by nothing more than blind ignorance. There are 2 sides to every coin. Not really seeing where you're coming from here...maybe I'm missing something? What I was referring to is that the extremest "Bo's the greatest coach ever" fans, once pushed to back up their stance on that, can really only come up with one thing to point toward...4 years of 9 win seasons. Conversely, when equally as extreme "Bo sucks" fans have to back their stance, they point toward a long list of things which tends to give their position some validity...inexperienced staff/hiring buddies, losses to teams we shouldn't be losing to every year, mismanagement of scholarships/redshirts, recruiting struggles, lack of identity/direction, young/inexperienced team excuses every year, Barney Cotton, regression in certain aspects of the game, no real quality wins, sideline antics, overly stubborn attitude toward media/fans, no conference championships, no BCS Bowls and on and on and on. Again, I'm more down the middle than either of those, but I think it's easier to see why some fans can be soooo overly negative than why other fans can be soooo overly positive in their views.

You think Bo not being concerned about the performance of his team is backed up by fact? What facts? Way to isolate one of the general things he said and try to present it as the only thing he said. That's pretty rediculous. He made some pretty valid points and came to his own conclusions based on those points. It was the one isolated point you were quoting at the time. Okay my bad then. I was commenting on the totality of his posts and just replied to his last.
  4. Whom are you targeting that would do a better job here at Nebraska? A Tom Osborne clone, Frank Solich Part II, the Return of the Bobfather, or are you going off the reservation? I see a lot of posts from you decrying the state of affairs of Nebraska football. What's your solution, and how do we get there? VERY valid question and I actually like the way you think. I prefer to focus on a solution rather than the problem. I'm actually not "decrying the state of affairs of Nebraska football" like you may think I am. I just get tired of the extremest views either way. Although I feel a little like the negative extremests have a little more substance to their opinions than the positive ones. Anywhooo...to answer your question, my solution is to give Bo more time. I'd say he is perfectly on the brink of either taking it to another level and getting us a lot closer to where we want to be OR tanking. I'd say give him 2 more years. If he can win a conference championship in the next 2 years, no brainer...he's our guy and he's here to stay as long as he continues at a comparable level every few years. If he goes backward, I'll even go so far as to say 8 wins or less, in each of the next two years...see ya, Bo. The questionable thing will be if he has 2 more 9-10 win, underwhelming seasons. Then I don't know. Hard to fire a guy with that kind of record. But we'd be going on 6 years of what I think most fans would consider average seasons by Nebraska standards so I don't know what you do with that.

  6. I think people just want one of those seasons at some point. No conf. Championship since 99. This.

You think Bo not being concerned about the performance of his team is backed up by fact? What facts? You have 4 years of 9+ wins (3 straight years of 10 wins if we beat SC) then you are a really, really good coach.... There is a reason that all of these schools are interested in Bo.... HINT: Its the 38/39 wins in four years.... Who would "all of these schools" be? Don't act like Bo has all these great offers that he's just tuning down left and right. He "supposedly" "talked with" Miami and Penn State. Yeah...those two programs are on top of the world right now. We don't know that either even offered. Both are unquestionably at or near the bottom of their respective barrels with regard to the state of the programs...within the last 20 years anyway. And you equate that to "all of these schools" being "interested in Bo"???

  10. The NFL Vikings tried to take COZ from us. The Vikings didn't try to take him as a head coach. Nice try though.
  11. Thats because you bought technology in its first year infancy and it was garbage just as HD was 1n 1999 when I bought a Mitsubishi and watched a lighthouse for 2 years and an occasional football game with so many artifacts it was unwatchable. I have a theater with a 12' 2.35:1 screen and still haven't seen the proper projector yet. There are several TVs that let you wear the "theater glasses" and they just came out this month. Never buy the newest techno and expect decent results You're dead on with me buying new technology WAY too early. I should have known better as I have a personal rule not to do that. But this was such a sizable investment that I really didn't want to be replacing it in a few years because everything had moved to 3D. That being said, the quality of the 3D product I have is not the issue. It shows about as good as any movie theater I've been in and the glasses are about like what I'm seeing in stores now. The issue is that 3D is just not that great of a watching experience. Give me HD all day...both at home and in theaters.
  12. Do you own a mirror? Because that's exactly what you sound like. Because I don't think Bo's on the same level as Harbaugh?? You f'ing kidding me?? Who cares if Bo is on the same level as Harbaugh? Bo is our coach, Harbaugh isn't, and isn't going to be. It's a dumb comparison in the first place. Which was the exact point of the initial discussion in the first place. Someone implied that just because Jim Harbaugh is able to be a good head coach and coordinator that means Bo can do it too. That is a ridiculous comparison...or a "dumb comparison in the first place"!!! Good lord!!!

  14. Although these are some of the most selective points I may have ever seen on a message board, again...let me know when Bo has his "one good season" and then maybe we can talk. We are talking. This whole You Post/I Post is a conversation. So because Pelini hasn't had ONE GOOD SEASON, he's not good enough. I love the armchair quarterback stuff from the internet. Nothing but wisdom, every day of the week. First: "We can talk"is a figure of speech...as in "we can talk about Bo and Harbaugh being an apples to apples comparison once Bo is up to Jim's level". Second: Who said "he's not good enough"? We're discussing why the two coaches aren't a fair comparison with regard to having the ability to be a head coach and coordinator. Now you're just being ridiculous and making stuff up.
  15. Ahhh...consistently above average...comforting. I read this in a Herald article recently. Unfortunatley while we made this list - I'd say the other 3 teams (i don't count VT/WV as BCS teams) would beat us by 30, 80% of the time. Our 9 wins can be attributed to the Big12 North, and a down year for the Big10. You'll also notice we're the only one on that list to not win a conference championship, and not make a BCS bowl. Its as sad to me when I see fans who are such homers that these kinds of stats are somehow impressive to them as when I see fans who are so extremely negative that nothing but a national championship is ever good enough. Both types of fans are equally idiotic.

  17. So that, in your mind, puts Bo on a level playing field with Harbaugh? Surprised the NFL hasn't been knocking down Bo's door to get him to come be the head coach of one of the most storied programs in the league.
  18. How is that an apples to oranges comparison? Let me know when Bo has a 12-1 season, wins a BCS Bowl or leads the NFC West (let alone all 3) and then we'll talk.
  19. Watching 49ers/Steelers on MNF. Lots of shots of Jim Harbaugh calling offensive plays for the 49ers. Too bad Harbaugh hasn't learned yet that he can't micromanage everything and needs to hire some better assistants. I guess he's just not managerial material. Comparing Jim Harbaugh to Bo Pelini....HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Now that's funny right there...I don't care who you are. While we're comparing apples to oranges, I think Joe Gibbs also handled the offensive coordinator duties while he was head coach and he did just fine.
  20. Bo's beaten more ranked teams in a year and a half than Callahan beat in his four years here. Well yeah no kidding. Who said anything about Callahan? Callahan sucked!!!
  21. I'm not ready to run Bo off yet but lets not ignore all the facts here. While 9-10 win seasons are great and all, tell me one really solid win Bo has so far in his career. Mich State this year? Okie State last year? Not exactly lighting the world on fire when it comes to quality wins. He's done about what he's supposed to do. Nothing more. Well if you need it defined and really can't see that Bo has beaten only the teams he should beat, lost to the teams that are premier programs and been beaten by a few that there's no way we ever should have lost then I guess I can do that for you. Had he just beaten ONE of these teams in his years as a head coach at Nebraska and everything else was equal, I would be ready to say that Bo is capable of playing with the big boys. I could also handle winning all/most other games and losing just this list of games. That would definitely mean we are close to being in the league we want to be in... 2008 - Oklahoma 2009 - Texas 2010 - Oklahoma 2011 - Wisconsin Not saying he can't get there, but he's just not there yet. I do think Mich State this year and Okie State last year were the closest he's come yet so maybe he's headed in the right direction. However, the ass whoopin from Wisc and Mich and loss to NW at home kind of offset that. You think there are very few coaches who can do what he's done (4 years of 9+ win seasons) and I think the list is pretty long of coaches who could do what he's done...at Nebraska, with the schedules he's had and everything else being equal. And I don't think you can base your stance on the fact that other programs haven't done it. I think you have to look at what it's really taken to do it at Nebraska and that has just not been all that impressive of a feat the last 4 years. It's taken winning the games he's supposed to win and that's about it. Very few upsets for, several upsets against and getting beaten (mostly pretty convincingly) by the top programs in football just isn't that special in my book. There's nothing proving either of us right or wrong...I guess we're just choosing to look at it differently. You're looking at the records and I'm looking at what went into those records.
