  1. Last year was? I know this one, lemme think. Oh yeah, 5-6. This year isn't over yet.... but I think it's 6-4?? Yeah, 6-4 so far with one more game and.... a bowl game! That's right, I remember now. We got a bowl game this year and we didn't get one last year. I wonder? Is it a better year when you get a bowl game or when you don't? Hmm.. I'm going out on a limb here.... opinions seem to vary, but, I think a bowl game is better than no bowl game. Yes, I'm pretty sure a bowl game is better than sitting at home. That's my final answer! As far as last year vs this year's team. I'll let the experts debate that.
  2. Pure fact. I wouldn't argue the historical fact that they did have success in their second year. Just wondering, isn't there a point in time to realize that Cally is here to stay? Cally didn't have the same success as said coaches... and only a few can turn a program around on a dime. Isn't it possible, maybe, given the time agreed to by Cally and Pedey (evidently six years) he WILL get NU playing at the National Championship level? GO CALLY!! FOUR MORE YEARS!
  3. JMO- means just my opinion . I can count anything I want. Thanks for playing!
  4. JMO: It's waaay too early for this. 09/16 Southern Cal Los Angeles ok, brutal game 09/30 Kansas Lincoln easy pickins 10/07 Iowa State Ames Tough but not brutal 10/14 Kansas State Manhattan easy pickins 10/21 Texas Lincoln ok, brutal game 10/28 Oklahoma State Stillwater easy pickins 11/04 Missouri Lincoln easy pickins 11/11 Texas A&M College Station tough but not brutal 11/24 Colorado Lincoln tough but not brutal three unnamed patsies- easy pickins. total: 7 easy pickins= wins 2 brutal= losses (maybe big) 3 tough not brutal= losses 7-5 Another improved record and another BOWL!!
  5. It's a math thing. Cally has four more years on his contract. I am hoping he gets all of it to get things turned around. As others mentioned in this thread, it can take MANY YEARS to build a championship team. Obviously, since you didn't get it, my mission is not accomplished. So now you know the REST of the STORY! It's obnoxious NOT abnoxious. BTW, you insulted me, I'm an obnoxious FIFTH grader. When you insult someone, you should at least spell it right. FOUR MORE YEARS!! FOUR MORE YEARS!! FOUR MORE YEARS!!

    Husker Letter

    AMEN!! GO CALLY!! BEAT CU!!!
  7. Yeah Baby!! 400 yards!! Whoooooo Hoooooo! BEAT CU!!
  8. Very Cool! Thanks for looking that up! Taylor broke a record that stood for 30+ years! And the season ain't over yet! Each completion is a new record. He also shattered the single game record for completions and passing yards! BTW, what are the yardage stats? BEAT CU!!
  9. Then don't do it! Woulda, shoulda, coulda. If pigs could fly, etc. Just be happy that progress has been made and NU is goin' BOWLIN" BABY!!
  10. Pedey knows what to do. He'll have it covered.. Trust!
  11. Have to agree with ya on that one former. You are paraphrasing but essentially correct. I liked Pedey's (paraphrasing again) "we won't surrender the conference.....blah, blah, blah" line the best. But used car sales aside, it was logical to some folks watching this spectacle that the move from the current option offense to the future WCO was going to be long AND painful. So, in this world of instant gratification, baby steps, patience will be required of all NU fans. Cally will have the huskers competing for the north in a couple of years. Will he get NU to the promised land?? Time will tell. GO CALLY!! FOUR MORE YEARS!!
  12. Good thing your opinion doesn't count. I'm sure the players would disagree with you. Bowl game vs no bowl game............ .............hmmmm sounds like improvement to me. I guess we'll just disagree on that one. Go Cally!! FOUR MORE YEARS!
  13. A stat guy can verify this but I believe Taylor has become the single season passing leader at Nebraska, passing guys like Humm and Feragamo. I'd say that qualifies him as a proven QB! Taylor will kick his butt in practice next spring and obviously has been so far this season or Cally would have started Beck ahead of him. JMO. Beck is back-up. Taylor is here to stay.
  14. Patience. Baby steps. Insert your favorite cliche here____________________. Going bowling IS an improvement over last year. Pure fact, last year NU stayed home, this year a bowl game. Doing better than last year = improvement. That's all you can ask for now. GO CALLY! Beat CU!!
  15. Probably right, for the most part, there may not be much improvement. JMO: They have lost QB's before and have won/shared the north four of the last five years. They'll probably dominate the north next year too. I'm thinkin' the clones get better next year. Meyer is only a soph! He's going to get scary good the next couple of years. Receivers are maturing too. Definitely will give CU a run. Big loss there. But maybe they gain more consistency with the back up. BS is either on or off. With Mangino, their defense will remain good. If they find an offense, look out! They'll get better. They can't get much worse. The bad news is they still nearly beat NU in Lincoln with their worst team in recent memory. NU should do a little better next season. More improvement. I'm guessing 7-5 and another bowl.
  16. Uh.. I dunno. Is this a trick question? Do you know how many? HA!! There's the rub my friend. He has a six year contract, the university would have to buy out the remaining years of it (and any assistants they fire). I hear they are still paying off Solich. Part 2: Cally WILL succeed. Given the remaing FOUR years of his contract, he will turn the program around and have the huskers competing for the B12 North title once again!! GO CALLY!!
  17. Yes, compared to last year! That is the definition of improvement, doing better. Not so fast my friend!! This season isn't over yet. There are two more games, the huskers could end up 7-4 or 8-4!! Next year could require 9 or more wins to be great! In the meantime, BEAT CU!!
  18. IMO, you'll see all the coaches back next year. Going to a bowl preserves their jobs and beating CU will ice that cake. GO CALLY!! FOUR MORE YEARS!!
  19. Yes, Ku could beat the clones in Lawrence. I don't think they will. As far as I know the goal posts are still standing in Ames, but some houses went down in the storm. Now, BEAT CU!!
  20. Neither, but beating them will get NU a better bowl!! Beat CU!!
  21. I remember my first beer...... The "magic powers" are in the young men on the field. Not in the garb of the fans. BEAT CU!!!
  22. Success is improving on last year... DONE!! GO CALLY!! FOUR MORE YEARS!! FOUR MORE YEARS!! FOUR MORE YEARS!!
