  1. The only real problem I have with Gill is that I fear if he does not work out that people will remember him as the coach that failed instead of the Husker QB. Mind you I am fine with whatever comes down the pipe, if it is Gill I hope they pull in a DC that will make a group of attack dogs.
  2. This (and other videos) bring 2 things to mind. 1. Arm tackling can work if there is a monster at the other end of them arms. 2. The team needs to watch this kinda stuff before they take the field. If those hits don't fire you up then nothing can.
  3. I think anything other then keeping Cally will make most of us happy. I will root on which ever coach TO decides on but I think everyone sees a change is needed. Another point is that I wonder how many coaches opinions may have changed after the way the "fans" have reacted to Cally and Coz this year (I mean the nasty stuff). I am hoping that the behavior wouldn't scare away possible candidates.
  4. I have been seeing this all year on the D and want to see if I am just imagining it. A D player is in position to tackle and stops or pauses before trying to make the tackle, not sure if hes waiting for other players or worried about the RB cut but just tired of seeing the D players standing still while the runner goes past
  5. I keep reading people say that the offense is fine, but really?? If I remember beyond the last game then I don't know how well that holds true, there have been sparks but absolutely no consistency. The fact that when we go down by 2 TDs in the first half it seems like Callahan forgets we have a ground game. So we go 3 thru the air and out and then get scored on again. If your defense is having issues you do everything you can to keep your offense on the field and slowly drive the field, don't you?? Also beyond that if BC was the OC I would agree but HC means your responsible for the whole game, not just what side your "known" for. After what the team, coaches and players had gone thru with some of the "fans" I don't think Cally is likely to give it his all next year. The honeymoon is over and both sides realize they married the wrong person, I just think its gone too far to fix. I don't see Cally agreeing to conditions to remain and I don't think he would be effective if they were forced on him. Also I think you hire a coach to coach, if you tell him how to do it then he serves no function. I have no idea what is going to happen after Colorado but I am just hoping it works out for the players more then anyone else.
  6. I think you mean Carlos Polk, I saw him earlier this year playing for the Chargers as a backup to Merriman.
  7. As a cynic, I would say its so they can make Michigan look better after the Alamo bowl loss. "Well ya they lost but it was to a top 10 team"
  8. Anyone else notice Lienarts comment after the game about USC being the better team on the field that night or something to that effect. My jaw dropped when I heard him say that.
  9. I am always interested in the way people say things and the language they use , this article is about as close as the writer can get to giving Michigan a big hug while talking about thier loss. He titles it "Even the biggest critics have to give Nebraska credit" but fails miserably to do so. If it wasn't for the fact that he actually mentions NU's win I wouldn't know they did from this article.
  10. I don't really buy this because of the apparent love of OSU, MU and ND that prevades the press. They have all been consistently good for years but they don't have the target that NU seems to have in the media. Nebraska could be USC and Texas next year and the media would focus on how they lost the game instead of NU winning it. I found a long time ago to just totally ignore the sports media as a whole for NU (really big 12 overall) coverage.
  11. Only caught the tail end of the game but from what I saw I would say big time over rated.
  12. Hopefully we can meet again in the next couple years for a NC After seeing this game I would love to see a NU/MU game every year, one of the best I have seen (officiating aside). Strong defenses on both sides and sporadic offenses but it all made for a hell of a game.
  13. If Nebraska keeps playing like they are, even if they lose, they got nothing to be ashamed of. Just wish the D woulda picked at least 1 of them 3+ near ints, but they are doing great even without that If they come out and start next season like this we got the North easy. I am totally impressed with thier play so far.
