Which team are you adjusting from? Last year we scored a touchdown on one of our first two drives in 9 out of 13 games. In 2 of those 9 games we scored TDs on our first two drives plus 2 other games where we went TD-FG att. on the first two. In 2 of the 4 games we didn't score a TD, we missed a FG and another game we made a FG. So there were only one game where we did NOT score a TD or attempt a FG in the first two drives - Michigan State (both drives ended in MSU territory - one could have been a 48 yd FG att but we chose to punt instead). Other than the MSU game, we punted on 5 out of 24 possesions (12 games times 2 possessions). We also went for it on fourth down twice (once on the one yard line) but failed and threw an INT.

A media guy reported - seemingly from a coach or someone inside the program - that the top four corners are Davie, Rose, Kalu and Mosley (not necessarily in that order).

Dedrick Young got a lot of run with the 1s today. Still close with him and Newby.

The staff said they want to pick their starting five this week and Lewis-Utter-Reeves-Kondolo-Gates have been getting basically all the first team reps the last few practices. There's your starters. Jerald Foster works in a little bit behind Kondolo but it sounds like that's about it.

So does the student only costs you have the season ticket amount ($57)? My memory might be a little foggy but I'm pretty sure all the tickets were not the same price when I was there - 15ish years ago. I'm pretty sure we paid half the cost for the student ticket (mostly $25 or so but some were $30 or maybe higher) and had to pay the other half to get it validated. I don't know what the regular season tickets were then or if they were all the same but it doesn't sound that different. If anything, you're just getting a better deal on your student ticket but paying a flat amount for all the games. Then still having to sell it for the full price of an individual game ticket.

I don't think it will as he's a graduate transfer so this will be his only year there. If anything, if he wins the job it might make it more appealing to Wilson that he wouldn't have to compete against someone who's already started for a year.

If Indiana can get their contract doubled, we should as well.

Honest question because I think I've seen this a few times now: what makes validating the ticket a huge rip off? When I was in school, you just had to pay the difference between full price and student price to "validate" it and then non-students could use it. Is it different now? That's how it was when I was there as well. But that's *cough* been a few years *cough, cough* now

I hope they're splitting the playing time opposite Gerry this year.

Aaron Williams is a true freshman that enrolled in January so he went through spring ball. Seems to be pushing for playing time at Safety already. Kieron Williams was a late add last year. Charlton Warren had coached him for a year when Williams was a Air Force Prep and Warren was at Air Force. He got a lot of spot duty on defense last year. He ended up being the main Dime back and also basically played Middle Linebacker in one package for one game (Miami I think) when we went to a seven DB look. Kieron is working at Safety this year as well, I believe. Gerry is definitely one starter at Safety. Cockrell had been getting a lot of the reps opposite Gerry on the first team but he's been out with shoulder issues the last couple practices. Aaron Williams has been getting a lot of reps with the 1s with Cockrell out. Kieron Williams seems to be in the next group behind those three vying for the other backup spot for now.

Unfortunately, it sounds like Taylor is down the depth chart a ways. From the media guys watching practice, there seems to be two guys who are at the top of the list - Newby and Wilbon - and then kind of a jumble behind them with Taylor and at least one or two other guys all vying for the #3 spot. However, it will be interesting to see how the new coaching staff uses the backs. They've said a couple times it will probably be some sort of committee approach. Taylor is a bigger back than those first two so he may carve out a niche for himself. But right now it's sounding like those first two guys will probably get most of the snaps.
