  1. Uh, 408 yards? Wasnt much chasing down from behind going on,
  2. If the sellout streak ends, his job will end. Again, just ask Dave Brandon in Ann Arbor.
  3. He's a fiery individual. You can't tamp that passion down - he won't. And because of that, he's not head coaching material. People were comparing him to Devaney when he first got here. But....Devaney had a .750 winning percentage at Wyoming BEFORE he came here. Devaney also got a pay raise his second season he was here because he WON the Big8. Winning championships cures ills, folks.
  4. There have been a lot of stories about Frost/his parents being in the middle of "difficult situations" over the years. The only one I have seen widely documented is Scott's involvement with LP's girlfriend (he was with her when LP went bats**t crazy). TO documented some of this in his books. Google is your friend... I have heard from some of his NU teammates (at tailgates, golf tourneys, etc) that they wish him success in his career but don't want him on NU's staff. Never got any more detail tho... I don't think he should even be an option until he's duplicated his success (as an OC or HC) on his own post-Oregon... Means nothing to me unless I get details. Other than that, I see a guy who played for some time in the NFL, and is currently the offensive coordinator for a top 5 team in the country.
  5. Mitch, Mitch, Mitch.... Good thing SECESPIN doesn't speak for all media. Charles Davis was on USC saying there would be a ton of interest in the Nebraska job. And quite frankly, I'm more inclined to take Davis at his word.
  6. I think when a Power 5 coach gets fired, there isn't a lot of P5 schools lining up to interview them. They usually need to become an assistant, TV guy, or a non P5 coach for a year or 2 to clean the slate a bit. Charles Davis just went on USC and said there's a TON of interest in the Nebraska job if Bo got fired. The question was about the interest in Bo, not Nebraska. I took it the same way as alex did, not interest in Bo, but interest in the Nebraska gig You didn't read the post very closely. I'm guessing there aren't many/any Power 5 teams who are lining up for Bo Pelini's services right now, suggesting that Nebraska would not be unreasonable in letting him go. But if there is a program that's impressed by the exclusive Bo Pelini/Nick Saban 9 Win Club, it would be the most diplomatic transition out of this. Even better: position coach in the NFL. No, you didn't listen to the interview. Charles was asked to comment on three actual job, and he replied that he didn't like doing that because it reminds him of going to the dentist - commenting on jobs that are not vacant. But he followed that up by saying, "If that job opens, there will be a ton of interest across the country. If they've fallen off, it doesn't take that much to restore a brand name."
  7. SECEspin is having fun now: Yeah, on the right track....
  8. Well its pretty obvious there was no communication and adjustments. Except for that dandy screen to Ameer. As aggressive as their d was woulda been nice to have that trick play we used up at northwestern for a spark too that bitched about and was ridiculed for. Okay, that would have maybe added one touchdown, LOLZ. That'd be like getting one lucky punch in but you're on the ropes against a heavyweight prize fighter and he's beating the crap outta you.
  9. Nailed it! Support the kids by getting them a coach that will teach them fundamentals and help them grow into quality football players all with 80% less berating on TV. Right! I'll call Bill Callahan. That you, Bo?

  11. Stoops has played in what, 3 national championship games? He's also the only guy who won all the BCS bowl games.
  12. With all due respect - fraid not, my friend. Let me take your first point on comparisons between records: Shaw's coaching record 2011: He beat the following teams (only ranked): #22 Washington #20 USC #22 Notre Dame He lost by 3 to #3 Okie State, and got smashed by #6 Oregon. 2012: He beat the following teams (only ranked): #2 USC #13 Oregon State #1 Oregon #15 UCLA He lost to unranked Washington and to the #7 Domers. 2013: He beat the following teams (only ranked): #23 ASU #15 Washington #2 Oregon #25 Arizona State (Pac 12 Champs) He lost to unranked Utah, unranked USC, and #4 Sparty in the Rose Bowl. How many times has Bo beaten a top 10 team? From my count, twice (could be wrong). Heck, how many times has he beaten a top 25 team, LOLZ? Second point - Shaw's 5-5 record right now. Again, he's 9 points from being 8-2 right now, with one being a double OT loss. All three of those games were against ranked opponents. One blowout loss against Oregon (revenge game), and a 16 point loss against #17 ASU. All the other losses were by 3 to ranked top 25 teams...a far cry from giving up tons of yards against Bucky (two years in a row),
  13. Who cares about that? Can the dude coach? Hmm... Through 10 games, they have 5,312 yards, averaging 531.2 yards of total offense a game. Only two years into the job, I think the guy can coach. EDIT: I think he'd be an excellent Coordinator. Not HC material quite yet. Few more years under the belt, yep. He would, however, blow the doors off Beck. Still saying Shaw is my guy.
  14. Doesn't he already have five losses this year, including two beatdowns? He is going to have to beat lowly Cal or #11 UCLA just to become bowl eligible. That might be a tough sell to boosters. Shaw lost three games by a combined nine points, my friend. Only team he got manhandled against was the #5 team in the country at the time (who's number he's had over the last few years). P.S. - All 3 games were ranked opponents at the time, as well.
  15. Naw, it was Cooper when Gordon leapt over him going down the sideline. There were so many of them, it's hard to remember which time it happened. Damn shame, LOLZ
  16. That's an instance where you DO light up a kid on the sidelines as a coach. Let me make my claim for David Shaw for a second.... His coaching career began at Western Washington University in 1995. In 1997, Shaw began a nine-year run as an NFL assistant coach with stints for the Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders, and Baltimore Ravens. As the Raiders' quality control from 1998–2000 and quarterbacks coach in 2001, the team won two consecutive AFC West titles and completed a 10–6 regular season.[1] Shaw was the quarterbacks coach for the Baltimore Ravens from 2002–2004 and wide receivers coach for the Ravens from 2002–2005, with the 2003 team finishing with a 10–6 regular season mark and winning the AFC North.
  17. Yep. And, again, as I pointed out earlier.... Anytime a PLAYER has to restrain you, as the HEAD COACH...that's a problem in my book.
  18. I gotta call you on this one. Bo screams at guys ALL the time. Even when they are in the lead... Point in case: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFifimVOywg P.S. - when you're up by ten...you're screaming at refs - then you tell your defensive coordinator, "GET THE F*** AWAY FROM ME!" Well in that case, his demeanor works 72% of the time. But that wasn't the issue. The quote is comparing 2 totally different times in the game. They look at Gary Anderson in the first quarter and they look at Bo after the wheels have fallen off. It's not the same. And as mentioned earlier, some of the BEST coaches yell at players all the time Agreed - but again - Saban is a notorious red a**. He may scream, but he's one hell of an X's and O's guy. You can scream all you want to, but if you can't out SCHEME the other guy, then out SCREAMING him ain't gonna work either, LOLZ
  19. Agree with both of you. I guess my point was that the reason this frustration is reaching a fever pitch is because it's likely we'll get at least one of the next two. If so, we hit the nine win mark, which although is relatively pointless to us all at this point will rationally probably seem to hold a fair bit of sway with Eichorst. Bo has hit his peak, which is really more like a sustained plateau. I personally would take David Shaw. But that's just me. In. A. Heartbeat. I think that guy can coach, lights out. He's just having a pretty bad year this year. Three of his losses have come by 3 points a piece.
  20. I gotta call you on this one. Bo screams at guys ALL the time. Even when they are in the lead... Point in case: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFifimVOywg P.S. - when you're up by ten...you're screaming at refs - then you tell your defensive coordinator, "GET THE F*** AWAY FROM ME!"
  21. Here's another thing... The state of a football team is usually going to be determined by the demeanor of its head coach. Here's an example of another coach fighting for his coaching life: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000417518/Rex-Ryan-restrained-on-sideline I get it - they are human, after all. But they also get paid MILLIONS OF DOLLARS...there's gonna be pressure with the job.
  22. Im sorry but that quote is just stupid. So the coach that is winning is calm and the one that is losing is bitching at the players for poor play? Wow. Great observation. Don't you remember the first part of the game? It looked like it was going to be a total Husker route. I assume that's what's being talked about-- we got to see how each coached composed himself while trailing by a considerable margin. Again. Being down 14 in the first quarter is not the same as having 50+ unanswered on you. Let's see how composed Anderson is if the roles were reversed and AA was running for 400+. But I will admit that giving every player an ass chewing after every missed assignment doesn't get the job done either. Pretty soon they are immune to it and stop listening. At some point, you need to be encouraging and give constructive criticism. Which, on camera, wasn't happening. The quote, I believe, was to show that while his team was down two scores, Anderson didn't panic. He didn't even panic when Gordon fumbled the ball away a bunch of times, either. There was even a shot of someone encouraging him on the sideline after his last turnover. I think he got the message, LOL.
