  1. Something is definitely wrong on defense!
  2. WOOHOO TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!! Where was this team last week?
  3. I say we win against KSU and Colorado. Go to a bowl game and win in a blowout and go storming into next year with a ton of momentum. I know this probably won't happen but it would SPECTACULAR!
  4. Im with you. I know there won't be any one getting fired right after the game if they lose, but I will just be so pissed if the lose it would be the only thing to calm me down. There won't be any firings after the game but if we lose to KSu and Colorado, you cna bet there will be firings. Also if we lose to Colorado and lose a bowl game there will probably be firings as well.
  5. Does anyone have the radio link for the KSU game? I would appreciate if someone posted it. Thanks.
  6. Wow, a national title in the next two years? That would be awesome and I really want to believe it could happen. However, there is going to have to be a drastic turnaround next year and consistent wins every year from then on. With a few staff changes I think we could be the '07 champs. Maybe I'm dreaming though.
  7. Really? Then how do you explain the blowout losses to Colorado and Miami in 2001, Penn St, Iowa St, Kansas St, Colordo in 2002, Texas, Missouri and Kansas St in 2003. Or do we only count run blocking against Troy St, Utah St, McNeese St, So Miss?? Explain how we were outscored 123-325 in those 9 blowout losses if run blocking wasn't a problem? It sure as hell wasn't our passing game now was it? At least we could beat Kansas in all those years!
  8. Option right, option left, run up the middle..QB keeper...HERE WE COME Yep, it sure sucked winning all of those conference and National championships with that offense. After all, the great West Coast Offense has brought us the wonderful record of 10-10, wow! FYI, now, not even the option right, option left, qb keeper would work. billy c screwed that up when he ran off his starting qb. So I guess we're left with, sack, 2 yard TE out, screen pass, punt. "Knock Knock" FormerFan: Whose there? Annonymouse Voice: 2005 Formerfan: 2005 who? Nameless, please be the one to inform us all what has changed from 1995 to present that makes it so impossible to run the option. Sure it's hard to comeback running the option but if you run it right you don't ever have to come back from a 21 point deficit. I'm beginning to think you are Pederson himself. That "2005" you refer to, is that the same one we got blown out by KANSAS running the WCO?
  9. They should be able to do alright as soon as Murtha learns to listen to the snap count. I still don't think the KSU defense will be too overpowering but with our o-line, you never know.
  10. Haha. "Frost you're such a hater. That old option is dead. We need a makeover and you just have to have patience. What's wrong with you? Go watch Air Force if you want to see the option. It's dead now."
  11. Anyone who thinks the option is dead needs to wake up and smell the coffee. read Scott Frost's post on the link in another thread.
  12. Prime example of why people are bitching. They just can't get over the fact that this isn't the 20th century anymore and that you need a passing game to go along with a rushing game. Did you even bother to look at which teams are in the top25 of rushing this year? Here's some NCAA stats of teams in the top25 in rushing offense and whether they are ranked in either AP/Coaches poll. 1-Minnesota-Not ranked 2-Navy-Not ranked 3-Texas-Ranked 4-Memphis-Not ranked 5-Arkansas-Not ranked 6-USC-Ranked 7-Airforce-Not ranked 8-California-Not ranked 9-La Lafeyette-Not ranked 10-West Virginia-Not ranked 11-Texas A&M-Not ranked 12-Toledo-Not ranked 13-Penn St-Ranked 14-South Florida-Not ranked 15-Boise St- Not Ranked 16-Wash St-Not ranked 17-Mich St- Not ranked 18-New Mexico-Not ranked 19-Arkansas St- Not ranked 20-Rice-Not ranked 21-Auburn-Ranked 22-Wake Forest- Not ranked 23-Missouri-Not ranked 24-Louisville-Not ranked 25-Ohio-Not ranked Do you see a trend in this list from teams that are from conferneces like the WAC, MAC, Sun Belt? How many teams from the powerhouses on that top25 do you see? Texas and USC are in the top10, but can anyone argue that those teams are loaded with talent? USC has Bush and Lendale white. Guys who will go in the first round of the NFL draft and 100% bet they are top10 picks. Texas has the same situation, to much talent drafted, but not only do they have a QB who can beat the hell out of you with his feet, he can PASS. Penn St is having a good year and the last time they were in the top25 was in 2002 and that's when they had guys who could rush like say Larry Johnson who burned us and was a 2nd round draft pick and Michael Robinson this year who is a milder version of Vince Young in the running department but excels in passing (8 yard shy of 2,000 yards passing) Where is Oklahoma, Miami, Florida St, UCLA, LSU, Notre Dame, Georgia, Florida, or Ohio St on that list? If Rushing was the popular, then why are they not in the top25? There's only so much you can do rushing the ball and these teams figured it out, sadly enough, our fans still think rushing a ball down teams throat like the old days is possible. IT'S NOT Your statistics are unfair and biased. In order to be fair you need to take a look at the ranked teams that have the highest passing percentage. Let's see, how about Hawaii? They must be great, they throw the ball all the time, they have to be good right? Wrong! If your team is not good, it's hard to run or throw the ball. The option is not dead, it's only dead when you can't run it. Hawaii isn't great, does that mean passing is dead? No. You have to have talent to make any offense work.
  13. If you're not improving on the scoreboard, you're obviosly not improving on the field. A win is a win, a loss is a loss. It doesn't matter how you get them. There's not going to be a " * " next to a loss that says "Oh but you could see a definite improvement" or one next to a W that says "They should have lost that game." In reality it would be nice to keep the same coach forever (win or lose) but it just doesn't happen.
  14. If Callahan and Pederson lost their jobs would you rather a new AD hire another coach(not necessarily better) to continue the WCO? Or would you rather a new AD hire a disciple(not necessarily better) of the option to bring back the running-attack? I think I would prefer bringing in a coach to run the ball down the throats of all our opponents.
  15. I agree that it is hard to change the offense completely. But Alabama was 4-9 two years ago, and 6-6 last year. I think if Callahan does not win at least 9 games next year, we drop the WCO and go back to power-running. But I think he deserves one more year. I know it's hard to tell yourself we will better next year when you told yourself that last year and there has been no improvement. If there is no improvement next year I don't think there will ever be any improvement. It simply does not take 5 years to win games and beat teams like Mizzou, K State, Texas Tech, and Kansas. If we lose to anyone except USC and Texas next year I will be disappointed and I doubt we will be able to contend in against either of them. I will be very upset if we go 7-5 or even 8-4 next year but lets just see what happens. If he can't do it next year, kiss him goodbye.
  16. Hypothetically, I think if you take Maine,Wake Forest, and Pitt(who should have beat us) and replaced them with teams like Clemson, South Carolina, or Arizona State ,we would have lost to 2 out of 3 of them. And they are mediocre teams just like Nebraska. I really think if we had a decent, not laughable, non-conference schedule we would be 3-6 right now.
  17. How many game has KSU won and lost this season?
  18. That theoretically is impossible. The Indepence Bowl is tied in with the Big XII and the SEC. It would probably be Nebraska versus South Carolina or Tennessee(if they become bowl eligible). South Carolina is 6 and 3, so they are already eligible. However, are there even enough games left for Tennessee to become bowl eligible? Sorry, I don't follow them much. Yes, Tennesee has to win their next three games to go bowling. Memphis,Vandy, and Kentucky. I think they will probably beat all them but look out for Memphis with D'angelo Williams.
