  1. It is very relevant. Bo was more worried about arguing calls (specifically that bogus PI call) than he was actually coaching the game. His demeanor in the second half of the USC game definitely had an effect on the outcome IMO. When your coach doesn't even know what is going on in the game because he is more worried about dropping F Bombs on the ref, that is a problem. You must not get out much or watch games on TV ever. Bo Pelini is not liked or respected amongst the college football world, especially the fans. Go to about any other B1G or Big 12 message board and ask for yourself. Posts after the game from USC fans themselves stated this exact thing. When I try to assess what fans think of our program, I tend to exclude fans of teams we play against. Rival fans always find something to dislike about their opponent, especially if something comes up during the one game against their team, like Dennard taking a swing or Bo yelling at a ref. Out here in PAC 12 country, I've never heard a single fan bring up Bo's temper. Not once. Not even when we play Washington. Out here in Oregon, they complain about Mike Stoops' temper. All the damn time. You know why? Because they don't like him or Arizona to begin with. They target his temper because that's what's there to target. If it were Mangino, they'd target his weight. If it were Kiffin or Neuheisel, they'd target their smugness. If it was Harbaugh, they'd target HIS temper. They're always going to find something. Anyways, since you ignored the question, I'm assuming you live inside of Nebraska, where every talk radio show, newspaper, and local TV show is talking about Bo's outbursts. I don't live in Nebraska. Out here in the rest of the world, nobody - and I mean, NOBODY - is talking about Bo Pelini's temper. Are people really going to sit around and say that Bo Pelini's not respected by the college football world a few weeks after his name was brought up for the Ohio State and Penn State jobs? A year after the Miami job? You honestly think that with him winning 9-10 games a year at a program without too many built-in advantages, and with his team performing well academically and staying out of trouble off the field, that he doesn't command a fair amount of respect from coaches, ADs and parents of recruits all over the country? You want to measure how much people respect Bo Pelini? He just hired a guy from our newly minted divisional rival by giving him - wait for it - the exact same position he had at Iowa. That's respect. Well, i live in Pac12 country (seattle) and I wear my hukser gear proudly, which people strike up CFB conversations with me. I have heard from a lot of friends, co-workers and random people about how Pelini is an ASS and why hasnt TO fired him yet? This has come from UW, Oregon, UCLA, USC, ND and other fans i have talked to. I have always stood up for Pelini, saying he was passionate and just needed a few years to grow into the HC job. I cant continue to defend him, he has made that impossible with his antics year after year. As for angry coaches... there is a difference between getting angry and yelling, and losing your composure. Bo losses his composure
  2. I think we have enough HS coaches already
  3. Holt has a pretty bad rep around seattle. They have lost plenty of recruits to oregon simply because kids dont want to play for Holt. Everyone is excited around here for the defensive changes. Few more years under Sark and Washington will be competing for conf champs. Just my opinion
  4. -your points are a touch hurt by the fact that two recruits just committed and Peat is looking like he will follow. You are excited about two 3 star recruits? no offense ot the recruits. Peat is a monster, but nothing is set until signing day.
  5. hypocracy at its finest right there...
  6. Wrong. Texas in '09. lol, +1 good sir!
  7. We wouldn't be playing an SEC team in the Rose Bowl, unless we made it to the MNC So if we lose three regular season games and the bowl game, that means we would have won the CCG. True, wasnt thinking about opponents, just the number of games. BUT..... Texas played USC in the rose bowl...... so its possible, just highly unlikely
  8. ohhh i got one.... since the TAMU blowup, Bo's team has gone 10-7....... wait, I think someone already said this one....
  9. umm, 12 regular season games, 1 conf champ game and 1 bowl game....... thats 14 games. How couldnt that be possible?
  10. HUSKERNMO, Well said and I agree with everything you posted.
  11. I would wager that 98% plus of this board would take Meyer over Bo, if Bo is a bad coach because of his last 17 games, Meyer is a bad coach because of his last 15 games. Why the arbitrary 17 games, did Bo change something 17 games ago that is relevant? Since 17 games are so important, lets look at the 17 games before your 17 games Bo was 15-2 in the 17 before your 17, including 12-2 against BCS competition. Anyone have a problem with that type of record? Sorry must have been editing my post when you replied. I dont, 15-2 is great, but not when you follow it up with a 10-7, dont you agree?
  12. Shark, Curious here, but why does everyone just need to shut their mouths and be "yes men"? What good does that do for us? fwiw, i am not saying you are wrong, I just dont see how keeping quiet helps the team in any way. At the same time, endless bitching about everything without providing some insight or solution, is just as poinltess IMO. Keep in mind, we aren't sending emails to Bo or showing up at his front door saying this. We are talking amongst fans on an internet message board (or radio show like Jason).... how does any fans talking on here have any infuence on the outcome of a game, or how poorly our team plays? again, just curious.
  13. no matter how you spin it, that number is still shocking. Considering Pelini started out 28-9, and has gone 10-7 since.. i think thats shows a lot about the direction of the program. btw, what does Urban Meyer have to do with Bo or Nebraska Football? I dont want Bo to go. While I dont think he is the next coming of TO, he is a decent coach that just has some growing up to do. While i dont agree with his antics or decisions (or the utter distain for the media and fans that support him), I dont think we will find a coach that can get 8-10 wins every year this late into the season, unless we somehow pulled Jeff Fisher out of a hat I just dont see the appeal Bo seems to have with EVERY major job opening. Good coach, but wet behind the ears and has a lot of seasons left before he will be on the level of great coaches.
  14. +1, you said everyting I wanted to say.
  15. Bo is 10-7 over the last 17 games.....
  16. Here are some stats for you: 2008 (Marvin's first year): 89th ranked passing defense 82nd ranked passing efficiency 2011: 18th ranked passing defense 25th ranked passing efficiency How about giving the guy a little time? valid numbers, but hard to compare simply due to the teams we faced (raymon in the running B1G and Marvin in pass happy B12). you could look at passes defended and interceptions (lower this year than in 2008), but again, its too hard to compare the two simply because of who we played.
  17. Meh, Devaney should explain what he was thinking with that Osborne guy in the first place. God must answer for this. Why isnt he being questioned?
  18. I agree to an extent. At the same time, isnt that the reason coaches get paid 2-3 million a year at a gig like Nebrasaka? Isnt that known when you take a job like this? It isnt just Nebraska, its like this all over, in every major college or pro team. Take a look at OSU fans, Bama fans, USC, texas fans.... we are tame compared to some of the big dogs. I feel bad for Bo, but his utter distain for the fans and media over the years..... gets no sympathy from me. I support the guy, I'm just not going to coddle him. At the same time, I am not going to kick him when he is down either. I trust TO and if he trust Bo, then I trust Bo too.
  19. Can anyone guess what our record is over the last 17 games? It blew my mind when someone told me. I still support Bo, i just hope he rights the ship. btw, I dont think anyone here really thought we would go undefeated this season. Most would have been happy with a conf championship and a solid BCS performance.
  20. Care to elaborate? see above
  21. It may be a little unfair in his first year, but I think he painted a target on his back by calling out his own players to the "enemy" (the media). Had he said "We need to work on being more physical and fighting back, that is something I will emphasis this offseason" I would have gained a ton more respect for him. I just didn’t like the way he handled the situation.
  22. I agree, but that isnt crap you spew to the media. I think it should be kept within the team, but just my opinion. Exactly. Marvin made converted RB and 3 star players into first round draft picks. I think Raymond has more raw talent to work with, just cant develope it like Marvin could.
  23. honestly, I think it was a low blow by Raymond. Marvin did more with less! Without LSU type talent, Raymond seems to be struggling. And, instead of taking it like a man, he blames it on the players. WOW! I lost some respect for him after that. Is it taken out of context? I dont know..
  24. Nebraska secondary coach Corey Raymond said the Husker defenders knew what they were supposed to do, but didn’t do it. “It was explained to them right there before the half,” Raymond said. “We just have to execute. That’s all it is. It’s a mental breakdown.” http://www.theindepe...6c.html?photo=0 >> The most interesting interview after the game was with Corey Raymond. The secondary coach wasn’t convinced Nebraska had enough talent to beat South Carolina, especially in the secondary. “Just be honest,” Raymond said. “Look at them, look at us. It’s pretty obvious.” What did Raymond mean? He didn’t spell it out, but he made veiled criticisms of Nebraska’s personnel. For instance, what did he take from this game going into the offseason? “Hopefully it helps recruiting. Get athletes.” Was he encouraged by how NU matched up man-for-man? “Not necessarily.” Raymond went on to compare the mentality of Southern players versus Nebraska’s players. His guys needed to learn how to punch back once they got “hit in the mouth.” “You can’t live on what other guys have done in the past around here,” Raymond said. “You have to live on yourself…We’re not Prince. We’re not Eric Hagg. We’re not those guys. We have to do much different things. We have to work harder. We’re not the same athletes as those guys.” http://sports.omaha....ch-bites-jan-3/
