Definitely something he needs to work on. Like I said, those balls are susceptible to being interceptions in our short passing offense. It's a big issue, but overall Tommy Armstrong looks very good for a redshirt freshman. Q is also a beast. I wish we utilized him, we hardly do unless we are inside the redzone.

One thing that scares me is the tendency for Armstrong to throw too high. This combined with a short passing game could equate to easy interceptions for inside linebackers and safeties.

Armstrong plays a beautiful game. Not sure he's our best player at QB, but he makes it look good.

Definitely helps NU, our run game is the base of the O and the pass has been the base for The Illini. I'm not so sure. Illinois' passing game is very short; Armstrong loves the deep floaters, and those are more susceptible to being carried by wind. Point being that NU runs first and can rely on the ground game, The Illini will have a harder time trying to rely on the run as hey don't do it well. If all they can do is short throws our secondary will play tight and force them to try and run. Point was taken, and I understand what you are saying. I just think Illinois won't even try to rely on the run. But we will see.
