  1. I like the way you are thinking here.
  2. first, why? second, do you think mark would take bo's job? Mark Stoops is not better than Bo.
  3. None but I would venture to say he is a better coach.
  4. I think if Malzahn gets it going at Ark St, he would be worth a look. Still it sold on Golden although I respect him trying to get Miami back on track.
  5. Fulmer is interesting but I think the game has passed him by now
  6. Only Gruden and Peterson have proven to be better. Mullen is having a good year but I think he needs to finish in the top 25% in the SEC to say he is better. Cowher would be awesome but not happening.
  7. Do his teams play defense? It appears that is the biggest problem for his team right now. Not better than Bo Do Bo's teams play defense? They occasionally have a decent day vs very weak teams. Against a good team (and OSU is a good team not a great team) we look like the St Mary's Girls School. That's my point. Everyone is screaming about the defense not being good so would we be better off bringing someone who cares even less about defense?
  8. Peterson and Carrol are the only 2 on his list that you can say are better than Bo. Patterson has yet to prove himself in a big conference. Holgerson is using Stewart's recruits and doesn't coach defense. RichRod has not proven anything. Who is the last guy?
  9. He would be nice to get but your gonna need to pay him more then that. He already make 6.7 million a year with Seattle As I said in another thread any college that his Pete would be answering to the NCAA. This was started when the sanctions were handed down to USC. There is a reason he jumped at a chance to get back in the league. Same thing would happen to any school that hired Jim Tressel as a head coach I agree with you Paul...The post you had in the other thread explaining the reasoning the coaches people want shouldn't/won't come here is spot on. I love husker football but to read and listen to some fans just makes me wnat to stick my head in a wood chipper. People need to get off their high horses about Nebraska football and come down to realitity that we are not kings anymore and that it might be awhile before we get the throne back. I hear you. I get tired of hearing people say get rid of the. Peach but can't come up with anyone better

  11. I agree on not needing a new coach. I was reading some other topics about how he can't get it done and I was curious who people thought was better than Bo. I mentioned Pete Carrol to start it off. Basically saying that IF Bo were gone, I would think he would do a better job

I knew of it with Tressel. Thanks for the insight
  13. What has Golden done that is better than Bo? I'm not saying he is a bad coach. Just wondering if he is better.
  14. So pick someone. If there is someone better than Bo and/or Pete. Let's hear it. Also, I'm not an idiot. I'm making a point that there is not a large pool of candidates better than Bo to recruit to come here. Let's keep it civil. This is an experiment
  15. I think the game last night sucked. I think also that Bo needs a couple more years. That being said, some do not agree. So I ask you to put it down here who would be better and how much we should be willing to pay to get them. Personally, I can think of only one person. Pete Carrol. 4 million a season. What say you?
  16. So, I was the one who started this thread. I am amazed at the level of evilness that this has caused. I was only trying to show my excitement for a game (hopefully more in my humble opinion) with our old friends OU. It somehow tailspinned into how much we hate Texas and leaving the big 12. Look, NU-OU was a rivalry. It determined ALOT of Big 8 titles. It lost its luster with the Big12. Whatever. I know that I always looked forward to this game even then and I look forward to it now. Texas might have been the bigger rival for them from a border standpoint but we were a big game too. I hope it could be a game every year. Probably won't happen but I hope. I also hope that strength of schedule plays such a big part in determining playoff teams that ALL major conferences will have to play every non-con against other major conferences. Who wouldn't like to see college football played more like NFL in terms of scheduling? Anyway, that's my soapbox for the night. Please keep the rest of the posts civil. The vast majority of us on this site are very passionate about DONU and we want the team to do well.
  17. Also, I could handle a loss to Oklahoma or any other Big Program team more than I like to watch blow out wins over Idaho State. The more high profile games you plat, the better you will be, in my humble opinion.
  18. I think the odds are going to increase more every year regardless. We lost to UCLA this year, we have them next year, we have games with Miami, FL, Tennessee and BYU. Plus if SOS is a factor in the new playoff, these are the chances that every school will be taking.
  19. Stoops said that they had difficult non-conference schedules for the forseeable future. It's not like they could just can their current opponents to appease our schedule. This is going to happen and I hope it goes on for a long time.
  20. Nothing beats a rivalry game. I vote that we make Oklahoma our season opener every single year. That would be amazing! I would be all for this
  21. My ideal scenario would be a continued non-conference opponent like this every year. Even if the B1G goes to a 9 game conference schedule, it would be nice to have that 1 non-con to look forward to every year. Look at the draw that ND v Michigan, U$C, Stanford gets every year. Plus with the new 4 team playoff and the emphasis of strenght of schedule, this would only serve to help our chances.
  22. Travis Haney from ESPN tweeted last night that there may be a renewed football series between the Huskers and Sooners. The words told to him were "It's not soup yet, but I like the ingredients". I missed this game since the destruction of the Big8. Hope it happens soon and often. I know they were looking at doing something in a few years to mark the 50 year anniversary of the Game of the Century, but if we can get something going quicker and more often, this would be great.
  23. I would tend to agree with this except that I would have to believe that a "key contributor" would have more production than 4 tackles in 2 games.
