  1. He probably quit because he was losing the starting job to the likes of Kevin Williams and Thad Randle with Aaron Curry, Vincent Valentine and Todd Peat Jr. hot on his trail. He never really impressed me anyway.
  2. Do you think that Bo makes his defense too difficult to figure out? It seems like we always bring in these stud defensive players that either end up not panning out or not touching the field for 2-3 years because they can't figure out the defense. Instead we are playing our less athletically gifted "Acedemic All-American's" who are smart enough to grasp his schemes. Don't get me wrong I think Bo is a great defensive mind but I think he expects to much to the detriment of his team. To think that Lavonte David almost didn't get a shot his Junior year until Sean Fisher went down with an injury because David didn't have a full understanding of the defense blows my mind! Hopefully this is a wakeup call that things need to change. What do you think?
  3. It's not the fact that he throws the bones, it's when he does it. Watch the replays, there was one time he started celebrating and the guy wasn't even down and Compton's teammates had to finish the play. If he is a leader on this team he needs to act like it and finish the plays.
  4. Maybe things have been put into perspective for me this week because of events that have affected people I know and care about, but life is too short to get upset about these kinds of things. It's better to enjoy the times where these games bring us together as family and friends than it is to fly into a fit of rage over a loss. Some people don't even have the opportunity to enjoy a game anymore, win or lose, and that is simply more tragic than any loss the Husker could ever suffer. And quite frankly I think it's pretty selfish to abuse your privileged of watching games by taking your aggression out on people and property. So let me get this straight. It's selfish of me to break my own chair that I paid for or punch a hole through the drywall in my hallway because someone else in this great big world has lost the capacity to watch a Nebraska game? By that same token it is also selfish for me to shove a Texas fan out of my face for hooping and hollering in my grill while leaving the 1996 Big XII championship game? Or slobberknocking a Colorado fan after spitting on my friend after the 2001 game in boulder? I understand this may an emotional response from you in reference to a recent experience and I empathize with emotional responses but I'm afraid don't share your sentiment and couldn't disagree with you more. Anything that involves the word "Slobberknocking" is okay in my book.
  5. Lavonte David was thrown in two years ago when Fisher went down and look how that turned out. Sometimes a scheme will only take you so far. Maybe simplifying the D and letting the physical talent shine through would be a better idea.
  6. I think it's going to be tough to judge the defense the next few weeks against far less talented opponents. I do agree we need to do something about the LB core. They are too slow and even when they do get to the ball have a tendancy to miss tackles. I think our corners are doing a pretty good job so far with coverage but the safety position is lacking. If I see D. Stafford go in for a big hit and the ball carrier bounce off of him or W. Compton start celebrating before the play is even over I'm going to throw a brick through my tv screen.
