How about this idea for a new reality show. A select group of contestants (16) are given the chance to win a job at a major university as an AD and a Head coach of a once dominant football program. These contestants will be placed on an island,swap spouses, and give each other makeovers while racing around the island competing in various challenges skill and feats of strength. The final 4 contestants will then take part in 2 boxing matches with the 2 victorious advancing to the final match where they will be asked questions pertaining to motivation,ethics and honor by an all knowing politician who will remain nameless. The winner will recieve The head coaching job and the director of football operations. The Loser will have the responsibilty of all other sports at the university. I will call it "The Hunt for Red Revival". Damn was that out loud? The medicine has finally kicked in! On that note I think this will be the weekend it all comes together!

Great post!! As for the comment quoted, you are totally correct. However, I dont think that Cooper is a great coach by any means. Look at how he got handled by Michigan. Would he have been better than billy c, absolutely, but he is not a great HC. There are few, it seems, that you feel would not be a better head coach that BC. Gentlemen here is the problem. Every since that fateful day when Chris Brown and the other Colorado convicts handed Big Red that demoralizing loss which led to trip to the NC game and an equally demoralizing loss the mystique,swagger, mojo whatever you want to call it went bye bye. It is amazing to me that taylor has not been carried off the field yet. It is no wonder he looks terrible at times. even when he has time in the back of his mnd he has to think he is gonna get lit up everytime. Dogwaste that is the only way to describe the O-line play.

besides the fact I had to watch the game on Tivo ill have to go back and take a closer look at the officiating. One thread praised Blake's recruiting skills, Cosgrove's revival of the Blackshirts and this Offense that now has the ability to return from great deficits. The next thing you hear is that we have the worst coaching staff in the country. Correct me if I am wrong, but during the recruiting season I could've swore that many of us agreed it would take a couple of years (meaning this and the next) for Nebraska to return to it's usual dominance. 9 times out of 10 if Nebraska loses this place turns into a girls locker room. and oh yeah after today 9-3 would be a treat

Who takes the fall when a team has concentration issues? The penalties are insane. Dropped passes, turnovers isnt that about focus? Its not the "complex" offense that is killing this team it is lack of execution,focus and motivation. All the things the coach is supposed to instill in his players. If the basics cant get done then how can we expect them to get complex. I dont think it is unfair to say that someone could or should be fired if they cant teach the basics. What has this coach shown you that makes you think he will be able to do it? Remember he took someone elses team to a superbowl and the next year his team fell apart because of lack of discipline,focus and no team unity. The potential is here but who is gonna bring it out? Is the D gonna keep spotting teams 14-21 pts? whose fault is that? The head coach may not call the plays or schemes but he has the first right of refusal.
