  1. You bet baby! Love to hear it. Also heard that he was very pleased with everything about Lincoln. Really liked the city and "how campus blended with the city". Feels the MN campus is a bit too big. And gives a lot of respect to the fact that weve sold out so many consec games, and that football is so paramount to the state. He said "you feel more like a football player down there." Should have his decision by Tue. Come on home to Lincoln Big Murtha. I think you'll like it here.
  2. Well apparently Clay Sievers, TE commit from Elkhorn has returned and he loved his visit to Lincoln. "It was awesome". He also said that we already have 4 new commits w/ more on the way. Among those he verified had committed: Gabe Hatchett JUCO WR *** Brandon Jackson RB *** Cornelius Thomas JUCO OT ** Joe Ganz QB/Safety ** He also said he wouldn't be surprised to see Blankenship and Murtha as Huskers when all is said and done. Very close to what Blackshirt predicted. Nice job 'shirt. Personally I would be surprised if Blakenship committed during the trip, simply b/c of the reasons blackshirt mentioned above. I could also see Grixby coming out of this a Husker. GBR! BRM
  3. Yep, heard the same thing. thx Fanatic. I'll post what I heard in that other thread blackshirt started for this topic. brm
  4. Well it sounds like Gill may be more valuable than we ever thought. And if Blake can convert just one of these guys... Also Murthas coach is big on NU. And dont forget his current teammate Nate Swift who also could be a big influence.
  5. Thanks for nothing Bob! Just spent the past 15 minutes playing that blasted game! 322.4 top that!
  6. Thanks for all the good info guys. Here's the latest Ive picked up on the big red scanner. Cornelius Thomas (in Lincoln this wknd) is believed to be a "lock" for committing to NU very soon. Profile: Offensive Tackle. 6-foot-7, 325-pound, tremendous athlete. great feet and is really coming into his own. He hadn’t played a lot of football before going to community college (San Fran) so his best football is ahead of him. 400+ bench He’s already taken visits to Oregon State, and North Carolina State, with NU being his 3rd and final. Also Gunheim has verbally committed to the Washington Huskies, so Coach Call will probably cancel his visit scheduled for this Sunday. Raymond Williams is expected to visit NU next week, and we are competing with Florida for his services. There are also still rumors that Rocky Hinds may still visit next weekend (6-5 225 QB, 4-star, 4.4 40 dash), who is an absolute freak of nature. I dont see it. He'll probably stay home in Cali and go USC. But heres to hoping. Any other news I missed? BRM
  7. I think a 8-3 regular season record would be a success. KSU OU TTech & Pitt are all tough road games, and will define our teams identity. Obviously all the home games are imperative wins, but SoMiss CU & MU are no washes. Tough road this next season guys. All I ask is for consistent competitive play. No showing up in the 1st half and not the 2nd crap a la MU. brm
  8. Rumor has it that DK has been contacted and offered a position back at NU. He's from Omaha, graduated from UNL in '85, worked at Ohio St. and is currently the strength coach at Pitt. Here's his bio: http://www.pittsburghpanthers.com/sports/f...?PLAYER_ID=1419 more info: http://www.pittsburghpanthers.com/info/strength/
  9. I am personally partial to Black 41 Flash Reverse mainly b/c I was there, and that was the most electric surge of emotion Ive ever experienced at a sporting or any other event for that matter. Truly amazing. We began the play in row 54 and after the touchdown we were in row 46 minus all our jack and cokes. Not a bad price to pay for such an incredible experience. Plus the seat upgrade was pretty slick too! Hey Redout, I dont think this pic was from the game you were referring to (believe its Miami Orange Bowl game), but thought you would appreciate it anyway. brm

  11. Apparently this kid is hot on Callys radar. Lets get some talk going about the potential QB recruits. Anyone know of some others who would fit in well and you think we have a shot at? 12. I doubt it. I dont think they were considering NU only b/c of Pelini, rather I think NU drew their interest, and Pelini sold them. Whether OU even recruited them or not I dont know, but Id be inclined to think not.
  13. Just about as expected. Solich really didnt show much emotion about the deal. Was glad to see Trev actually stick it back in the faces of the media when Ley mentioned that NU couldnt even give the job away. Trev actually said that he believed there were some dishonest acts on the part of Broyles and Nutt in that whole mess. I think many have known this for quite a while, but good to see someone in the media actually step up and start speaking the truth, instead of just using the same stupid posh catch lines just to raise eyebrows.
  14. ESPN reports that a deal is in the works. How big would that be for the CHI?! From K Wood to Prior to Maddux? Are you kidding! The Yanks would have no shot if this went down... How ya like dem apples Jersey?
  15. Okay, now Im contradicting myself with all these drive by links, but heres another interesting one. Apparently old J Blake is a successful businessman also. A VP of football ops at Protect Mgmt Corp. http://www.protectmanagement.com/john_blake.htm
  16. A few other interesting excerpts from Rivals.com “I fell in love with the state of Nebraska. I fell in love with the city of Lincoln. I felt I got along with the players as well.” Is he solid? “I’m 100 percent sold. No sir, I will not change. I’m very happy.” He feels that Nebraska could end up getting verbal commits from some of his other Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln teammates, but he has not talked to them recently.
