  1. hello, ashley palmer has finally decided to visit. He will be coming to UN 12/09 w/ dj jones, & juco ot aaron mason (q carter will be at UN 12/10). I believe there is a good chances UN snags him w/ ola dangunduro, a former teammate at compton jc, & brandon johnson, a current teammate & UN verbal nodding him toward UN plus, blake is recruiting him, as he did the other 2 compton players - johnson & ola so, if c young commits this week as rumored, & palmer who is looking to settle on a school commits on his visit, which could happen, that will garner 2 for the very scarce position of s for UN & UN will just have to wait & see where & when davis will visit other schools, & if thenarse & mouton will do the same
  2. hello, dave h is right...according to huskersillustrated (the article is on the front page) he has made a decision to make a decision of his choice of university, & will verbal by this weekend. young has offers from co st, ia st, & UN (& w/o an offer from ia it seems to be that he will be N - truly I cannot believe that ia did not offer, because he may have been theirs for the taking).
  3. hello, so on tuesday bill snyder was set to retire, so what impact does that place on the cobb brothers & russell & bullocks - who all have ksu schollies but now no synder - will they pursue other places, or will cobb pull the trigger on UN before wilson becomes a complete 100% commit, or will bullocks & russell consider a greyshirt if offered by UN instead of a ksu schollie (the likelihood of a gs for one or both of them seems more likely day by day as turner, hancock, & reese began to lean toward other schools) p.s. snyder's announcement will not impact ksu's verbals too much since they only have 2 verbals, thus far - but it may impact poor evridge who wanted nothing more than to play for the legend & utter genius of coach synder - well evridge, I hope that you have 3 nice yrs of snyder-less football, & please, prepare for the worst. (I posted this article a couple of days ago in cobb's article post, & I had to post it again - because it makes me happy knowing that allen evridge is not) good-bye, hootin'
  4. Hello, there are a few kids who have UN & ksu on their short lists, such as antwan cobb, russell okung, derrick russell, tyler bullocks, justin makovicka, keith williams, & cole bunner - w/ snyder & a schollie I could see each of these kids committing to ksu, but w/o snyder & the possibility of a new coach coming from outside of the program (tcu's patterson, ou's venables or long = hot coaching commodities, & all have ties to snyder) if ksu hires a coach from the outside I do not see how russell, bullocks or anthony cobb continue to be courted, which should turn antwan cobb off to ksu scott krebeihl had a visit set for ksu on 12/03, but for the time being that is put on hold - he did eliminate UN & tenn from his top 3 of ks, kst, & mo - but who knows now w/ snyder gone maybe UN can sneak him up for a visit

  6. ...got to love the future of UN basketball...I think that I might be as gitty as barry collier is over the verbal of pierre allen (matt hill, who? Oh yeah, that's the guy who pierre allen is going to muscle into the stands, right?) allen, mccray, soda, white, anderson, & maric - wow! I am loving this, barry!
  7. Hello daveh, wilson has a lone visit set for fl on 12/16, & I did not believe that he is even in fl's top 5 at rb for their recruiting class this yr - they already have a verbal from c walker ****, & a visit from d murray *****, & m williams ***** has fl high in his interest, plus spiller & moreno have fl on their short list - the guys that fl is after are basically the finest hs rb's in the country, & most of them will most likely commit late - so why would fl commit so soon on a jc kid when they have walker, & have a good chances of getting murray or williams? - plus their top 2 rushers for this yr is a so & fr I just do not see why a juco who has two yrs to play would want to get into a #'s game at fl when UN has but lucky & jackson for competition - assuming glenn swings to fb - which should be the case (everyone knows UN needs production there) p.s. if anyone gets a chance to look at fl's recruiting class it is worth the look, since every position is simply filled w/ wow prospects - the amount of top quality kids that are interested in fl is truly amazing. 2nd p.s. - tomerlin, taylor, hardy, wilson, franklin, & hunter are N '04, '05, & '06
  8. hey, how do you know what I mean, djr313 & kansashusker? Maybe, I meant to write antonio davis, who from '93 to '98 w/ the indiana pacer was probably pound for pound the most physical pf in the nba...now, seriously what college would not want an antonio davis clone as their pf...seriously. Seriously, why would UN want an antonio gates, who had one good yr at te, & than selfishly holds out all summer, & through training camp, & misses the 1st few games, so he could negotiate for more money, & a better contract to match his one good yr...seriously. No, seriously I meant antonio gates...seriously sorry for the mishap...I will most likely do what dread pirate roberts/wesley was going to do in the morning - to myself of coarse
  9. Hello, great news on allen (it looks like I went to bed a little too early - & woke up w/ way too many e-mails telling me of allen's verbal) pierre allen has to be the biggest coup of the yr - for UN football & especially for basketball - barry collier has to be the happiest man in the state right now - allen lead his school thomas jefferson hs, denver to the state title last yr w/ 21.1 p, 14.3 r, 5.3 b, 1.9 s, 1.7 a, 37.3 3p% allen has lead his football team in tackles the last 2 yrs, & has been & will be again this yr d mvp, & should be all state d if we compare his size & speed to the UN standard at TE - herian (as a hs sr): 6'5", 225, 4.60 allen: 6'5", 222, 4.60 if he plays de, & we compare him to this yrs other verbals at de (since he listed as a weakside de) - smith: 6'6" 230, 4.85 davis: 6'6" 275, 4.90 some will say he could be the next antonio davis & others many others may say the next julius peppers - yet barry collier right now is speakless, since he got the best bb player out of co & it did not even cost him a schollie

  11. hello, WILSON is N goodbye, hootin' annie's goatfarm.
  12. Hello, eric the red, & in respond to your statement of mccarty, we all have to assume that mccarty went into this weekend w/ little expectations of being completely wowwed by UN, since osu was his 1st choice of schools, & also he w/o a doubt did not think that beck from his hometown of clearwater, fl had any chance of seeing a single down of action, especially since beck came into the game as a possible rs for the season, anyway - but then, wow - he saw a game w/ the most crowd noise possible ever at UN, he saw fr in the game contributing through out the game w/ great energy & tremendous pressure placed in their hands, & he saw his hometown hero, - of last yr anyway - beck, in his 1st collegiate game, & saw beck helped lead UN toward a winning fg so, what subject do you think he will be telling his friends & family the most about? (p.s. if I were to guess I think that UN's chances w/ him just went up considerably - what do you think?) (2nd p.s. way to go fans & way to go, beck)
  13. hello, well since we have 4 pages of positive talk about freeman here is some negitive - he is now being listed by rivals as a soft verbal to UN (look it up if you wish, - it is written in colored print on his player database page - SOFT VERBAL) rumor has it that he maybe taking one more visit to ou - I guess possibly dec. rumor has it that he is growing weary of UN's lack of protection for their qb, & lack of development from their ol p.s. - do not kill the messager, & please, think happy thoughts like UN's coaches will calm the kid's uneasiness (but stay tuned anyway to this one - it could get wild w/ all sort of guessworks).
  14. hello, I believe that this game could not have been any better for the recruits - & I am not simply talking about the game's outcome - but more greatly on the fact that the recruits (especially the hs recruits) saw: UN start 2 fr ol (slauson & murtha), & one fr ol (huff) who got good reps w/ the 1st string, a fr qb (beck) who came in, & performed well under stressful circumstances a fr k (congdon) who won the game in the end w/ a 40 yd fg a fr de (turner) who got his 6th sack of the yr, & was in on a few hurries a fr wr (swift) who had some good catches, & one catch that helped UN to win the game in the end & they (the hs recruits & wilson) had to see that they could come, contribute & press for some immediate playing time of their own at UN plus, the juco's were the show today w/ bowman & taylor as leading men (p.s. where has patrick - so. ol - been all yr, because today he was the lone rock of the line)
  15. hello, husker in soonerland I meant to write huff (w/ a thousand pardons- please forgive me) & if it were not for a shoulder surgery to christianson than UN would most certainly be starting 3 fr - murtha, slauson, & christianson, & playing H-U-F-F (rs fr) - (please forgive me again, since I am inane & desire a response ever so often). also, going back to the subject at hand - which was of barrett - if barrett is looking at playing time at fsu, well they are loaded w/ o-linemen & are recruiting well this yr in that department - w/ hardrick ****, bellamy ***, & great chances w/ barrie (who UN was high on), smith & geathers *****, & rose & ricks ****, & davis (who now holds fsu offer) barrett has an offer from fl, & he did camp there over the summer - but fl seems to have waned a little on him probably because of their success of other ol verbals - johnson ***** & hurt ****, & others who have them on their short list - & young, carufel, smith, & logan-el (all *****). so, if the kid wants to play right away - there is no place like NEBRASKA
  16. hello, the things that are in UN's favor for barrett (og) - are that he: (1) will be giving UN his 1st visit (2) will see fr starting & playing on the o-line: slauson (fr), murtha (rs fr), & mann (rs fr) (3) could be promised by the UN coaching staff that he could see significant playing time as a true fr or rs fr (4) should witness w/ his own eyes the immediate & absolute need for o-linemen (5) could be blown away by the game day atmosphere of UN, its fans, & tradition - similar to davis who before for his visit to UN was favoring area schools - va & va tech (plus, he saw a great game, UN vs isu, in which the fans were loud & terrific
  17. hello, i believe that this weekend (if the game goes well & the fans do not boo the coaches or players) UN will equal 10/7 - w/ the verbals of johnson, allen, a jones, & davis - since: deas (extremely strong & physical dt) who is high on UN & blake may verbal - he camped at ga this summer - so he may be comparing the two on this visit (plus, w/ his grade issues - remember that last yr all sorts of people were foretelling that many members of UN's recruiting class were going to be lost because of grade issues or poor act/sat: b wilson, r picou, j picou, m lucky, & l jackson - they all made it - t spain will be here in jan. - hunter & franklin - did not make it, yet they are safely tucked away at butler - so, I hope that we do not get too worked up over the grade issues this yr.) okung (undersized ot 260 lb.) will be have his 1st visit of the yr, & his family is coming w/ him which is always a good thing, plus he jumped on the offer UN gave & quickly set up this visit - he likes UN's tradition & coaches a lot bowens (6'3" wr) has been high on UN all yr & is finally coming - this might be his 1st & last visit - iast & ms are on him as well - enough said. wilson (6', 215) from butler cc & liberal, ks - he & his family will be here - he has a visit set w/ fl 12/16 - but this visit should be the last if everything goes well
  18. hello, rumor has it that kenny wilson will be visiting for the UN/ksu game - & if UN gets him to come there is a very good possibility that he will commit - so if everything does play out in that order - where does that leave cobb (has he waited too long to verbal, will UN continue to pursue, or will he start to look elsewhere - since he has a classmate & friend - beasley pg #150 rivals - who has verballed to play bb at a&m) even though, UN has plenty at rb w/ lucky, glenn, & jackson for next yr - there is still room for 2 talented rb's in cobb & wilson (if there are 5 rb's than cobb = rs) butler cc: 3 signed '05, 2 possible for '06 - wilson & verdell, & 2 possible for '07 - hunter & franklin
  19. hello, q carter has had his visit moved back to 12/10 (no game day atmosphere - but hopefully he will see bowl game preparations) i am so surprised that UN is trying to vie for visits from safeties like: carter, verdell (juco butler cc), & palmer (compton cc) - since hs safety stars like davis, thenarse & mouton have UN as one of their top schools - will not bringing in the former make the latter feel a little uneasy about UN's interest in them, or vice versa - oh well, the more the merry (i just hope that UN finds a group of safeties who can tackle a lot better than bullocks & tiedtke).
  20. Hello, this catagory has nothing to do w/ recruiting, & probably should be moved to husker football - but I guess I will chime in too: the aforementioned elephant look will start for UN this week w/ two fr - murtha 6'7", 315 & slauson 6'5", 340, one sr - koch 6'4", 315, & two jr's - mann 6'4", 290 & austin 6'1", 295
  21. Hello, yes it will be tough to pull ausberry away from usc, since usc has only given out 5 schollie to hs wr's so far, & ausberry is the only one to be from ca - which has to make him feel special. The other 4 wr's to receive schollies from usc are hazelton & harvin from va, hornsby & cooper from fl plus, usc only signed one wr last yr - who happen to be patrick turner usc is loaded w/ talent at wr, but they are not over loaded w/ sure #'s at wr - turner fr, & jarret, lewis, davis, & walker so, & mckoy & smith jr - & 3 sr's - which, also does not bode too well for UN the only intriguing thing about UN to ausberry has to be the fact that he would not have to share the ball too much, or have to come off the field too much one thing that has to bode will for UN, ga, & osu is that distance does not seem to be that much of a factor, since usc is the lone school that is relatively close to be in his top 4
  22. Hello, the info that I have on ashley palmer is there is a very good possibility that he may be a visitor for the ksu/UN game - 11/11 johnson who is N & is a teammate of palmer at compton jc, has along w/ the UN coaches have been working on palmer to visit UN - & a visit may just come true for all who are involved - as stated before this kid wants to commit & to end his searching - he has for the most part already given two soft verbals to or & ms - & I think that this weekend if he comes & sees what UN has to offer he may give his final verbal, which could be a solid verbal p.s. ashley palmer will graduate in jan
  23. this game is the biggest of the yr, since it will be for a bowl berth, (& also senior day - a chance to say good-bye to ross, smith, adams, teidtke, bullocks, s koch, (nice applause) & seppo, b koch, & m leflore (one handed claps) & possibly thomas & muhammad the recruits who are coming so far are (& let's hope they do not hear too many boos during the game from the UN fans): seth jensen dt who is N, charles deas dt, russell okung ot, donald bowens wr, colin mccarthy lb, & quinton carter s (& chaz washington - soft verbal to miami - may be coming on the 12th) out of all the seniors I believe that I will miss sam koch the most, & I am not joking - next yr his shoes will be the biggest to fill
  24. hello nameless & sgfdhusker, there has been another change in regards to shannon boatman #35 juco prospect - by the way great info above on him nameless - his visit to UN has been chanced to 12/16 - so no gameday atmosphere - yet hopefully UN will be prepping on that day for their bowl game (hopefully) he will visit okst on 12/2, & then iast 12/9 ks & sc may get his 4th & 5th visits - if he needs that many.
  25. Hello, stuckinchicago thanks for your thoughts on the matter - it probably is coincidence. Yet, last weekend against ou there was one play that has been stuck in my memory - the play is when dagunduro (slightly hurt himself) tackled an ou ballhandler from behind on a screen - & it was the angle & speed that he showed on the play that wowwed me - in past yrs dt's have had opportunities to bring down a ballhandler - but they have lacked the speed to do so even w/ an angle, & in most cases the ballhandler continues to progress down field - dagunduro (along w/ the other dt recruits) has sometime that I have not seen in a while & that is speed - & a dt needs some speed when he gets into the backfield to bring down a qb or rb (esp. if that dt has the angle) & I just love the fact that UN's dts match their opponents' qbs in speed - so bring them down, & lets hope UN continues to lead the nation in sacks yr after yr.
