  1. 3 last minute losses out of 5 games. I wasn't a fan of the hire or the assistants he brought in. We'll be lucky if we win 6 games this year. I feel bad for Riley, he should have never been hired in the first place. We squandered a huge opportunity when we got rid of Bo and hired Riley. Good luck on your corporate-ladder climb Eichorst.
  2. I disagree about Tommy. Tommy has been the least of our problems today. He's made mistakes, but he's also been one of the few bright spots throughout the game. It's pretty apparent that the scheme coming into this game was fundamentally flawed. Agreed about the defensive coaching; awful from start to finish. Banker has a very limited competence, obviously. You obviously don't know what you are looking at when it comes to defensive coaching. If you want to question Davies starting and being put on an island, that is fine. But the adjustments after that were something that we never saw under Little Bo Bleep and if you couldn't tell how much more speed Miami had than NU did, then there is no help for you. You might have noticed that that my comment was made well before the end of the game. I'm no Bo defender, and I'm glad he's gone. There were some good adjustments made, but our overall performance was pitiful prior to the last phase of the game. If you can't see that then there is no helping you.

  4. +1 This game is the very definition of "square peg, round hole"
  5. They're right. At this point, does anyone know what our offensive identity is besides penalties and/or sh#t play-calling?
  6. I agree. And while people were praising the coaches for that, how much has to do with him being a 3rd year starter? Very good question .
  7. The other thing I notice is that even though Tommy runs the ball well, he now hesitates to run, even when no pass is available. This screams "square peg, round hole" to me.
  8. The only improvement I see is Armstrong's play. He's done well. I feel bad for him.
  9. I blame Riley for the awful product on the field, unequivocally. However, the decision to hire him and allow him to bring the Oregon State staff to NU was made by Eichorst. He owns the results of his hiring decision.
  10. ... and there it is!!!Such a horsesh#t excuse.. +1
  11. The worst part of this performance is that the same exact mistakes that led to Bo's firing are being made by Riley. That's the very definition of stasis. I'm glad Bo is gone, but this is pathetic and inexcusable. If any fingers should be pointed, they need to be directed at Eichorst.
  12. It's premature but that's how I'm feeling right now. I'm not seeing any improvement from years past, at all.
  13. At this point, a .500 season is looking like a reach.
  14. Agreed, with the exception of Armstrong. Hes not at fault for anything that's gone wrong so far.
  15. They aren't nearly as bad as the performance taking place on the field.
  16. Couldn't agree more. As a fan, all I can ask from the players is to give it their all till the end. The rest is on the coaches. Our guys lived up to their end of the bargain tonight IMO.
  17. Several Nebraska players played in the LA area. Could be these two were friends? Could very well be. Still kind of bothers me. Not that it really matters I suppose, nobody will remember by August.
  18. Anyone else kind of annoyed by seeing #10 running and laughing with a USC player immediately after the last play was over? Maybe it's just me, but the quote from Patton came to my mind: "I wouldn't give a damn for a man that lost and laughed."
  19. Our guys played with heart all day long, and that alone is an improvement. It was plain to see that we were out-coached long before we got to this game. I am excited to see what the future holds with a new staff.
  20. Just thankful this is our last 2 minutes of Tim Beck.
