  1. My pick would be Brian Kelly if football was the ONLY thing. He has WON with lesser talent ( according to Rivals and Scout anyway ) everywhere he has been. His Cinn. team has lost only 3 times this year and all were a touchdown or less. His team held the Vaunted WV team to 28 points ( there lowest total with Pat White not hurt I believe ) while scoring 24 I think and all this with lesser talent? He has won everywhere he has been. He is a recruiter, offensive and defensive coach. A winner. I hope he gets an interview. If he does, he will sell TO. Now my heart is with Turner Gill, he is a winner in all areas, as a person first, coach next, and isn't that what we really want at Nebraska. Turner may not win as quickly as Kelly will, but I can see him here for a long long time being sucessfull.
  2. Selling for $75 each, section 46 row 15 seats 15 & 16 great seats!
  3. I have 2 tickets for this game they are great seats $100 each or best offer. Call Kirby at 402-770-3683.
  4. The d-line is THE most crucial part of the defense and we need help there and fast. Suh is good and probably will be very good by the time he's done, but he needs help. Look at our top teams of the past and every one had a very good d-line. A d-line can make up for middle of the road d-backs and linebackers but poor d-line play can make even good d-backs and linebackers look bad. Look at the top teams today, USC, LSU, OKLA they all have very good d-lines. The defense then helps the offense because they get the ball more and have time to mature. Look at the other side, Louisville, Nebraska, West Virginia....etc., very good on offense but no D-line and they can't stop Syracuse, Ball State, etc..... We are in need of Defensive line help NOW and in the future....
  5. I grew up sneaking into memorial stadium. I want the huskers to win every game, yet the truth is they are not quite there yet. If they turn the ball over 2 times they lose to USC. 3 times its a blow out at home. If they don't turn it over and instead force a couple they might win. It will take a 1978 Husker effort to beat the trojans. They are not as good as 03-04 and it can be done. I snuck into the 78 game and the crowd was crazy, the players played loose and we won. The defense stopped Sims and company with a monster effort....... IT CAN BE DONE......Here's hoping!
  6. My guess is that he still isn't feeling well and or the players around him are not very good.
  7. Blaine just won the MVP of the Elite 11. He is the Best QB this year. He will get his fifth star when the next updated rankings come out. Look for him to be at or above #20. Arm, footwork, accuracy and above all, competativeness.
  8. I think if McGuffie signs with Mich. than we get Gray and Demons. 75% chance if that happens.
  9. I just watched a free video of Blaine at the Nebraska camp. He is impressive. His mobility and footwork are incredible. He is very accurate and quick. He is also tall 6'5 or so. Look for a monster year from him and a real battle for the starting job next year. You can see that he has the fire that is needed to be a leader, add his tools and he could be a great player here at Nebraska and in the NFL.
  10. Blaine is the highest profile player to commit to the Huskers in the New Era. He is the top rated Quarterback on everyones list and could be, could be, the Number #1 player overall depending how the year goes. I would like to go see a game of his this upcoming year, maybe In Kansas City? Any info on his schools schedule? Recruiting isn't everything---but it sure helps and to have this many quality commits this early can only help keep the ball rolling. Go Huskers.
  11. I have two tickets to the k-state game in the nebraska section that I can't use, 6:00 start makes it hard with little ones at home. call me if you're interested. Will let both go for $100.00 paid 140.00. call me at 770-3683 Kirby
  12. I know others have watched the USC/Ark game and made comments so here are mine. After looking at the box score something glaringly stands out. 5 five turnovers. Look at the touchdown drives for USC 3, 28, 80, 73, 31, and 26 yards. 4 of the 6 were under 35 yards. Also 2 FG's drives were under 30 yds as well. USC had 0 zero turnovers. If we don't turn the ball over or if the turn overs are equal, we win. Taylor plays smart ball and understands how to manage a game.
  13. Does anyone know when the starters are going to be revealed? <_
  14. I find it interesting if true that he is trying to contact the hskrs. TT has a recruit from last year that passed for over 10,000 yard in texas, this kid is the next in line along with potts i think that some of these recruits want to be THE guy. We want character not characters..... this kid might have it... might not... time will tell with all of them. This much is for sure. You have to be able to throw the ball pretty well to pass for over 4600 yards in 5a football no matter what the sceme. Bring um on, the cream rises to the top.
  15. HERE IS MY TAKE ON THIS ISSUE. FIRST OF ALL THE COACHES HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT A 17-18 YEAR OLD KID DOSN'T ALWAYS KNOW WHAT HE WANTS TO DO, AND THAT THERE IS ALWAYS A POSSABILITY OF ANY OF THE COMMITTED PROSPECTS DECOMMITTING. IF THEY THOUGHT HE WAS DIFFERENT--- THEY SURELY LEARNED FOR GOING FORWARD. SECONDLY, I READ IN ANOTHER THREAD THAT HE MAY HAVE HAD A CHANGE OF HEART GIVEN HIS UP FRONT VIEWING OF THE HUSKERS PRACTICES WITH BECK, GANZ, TAYLOR ETC. COMPETITION COULD HAVE SCARRED HIM OFF. COMPETITION WILL BRING OUT THE BEST IN A FOOTBALL PLAYER. I LOOK AT IT THIS WAY. I BELIEVE BECK IS A STAR IN THE MAKING. HE WILL PUSH FOR THE STARTING ROLL IN THE SPRING AND THOUGH HE MAY NOT GET THE NOD, HE WILL BE ROTATED IN WITH TAYLOR. JUST ANOTHER THOUGHT. IF YOU LOOK AT THE STARTING QB'S IN THE NFL, I WOULD VENTURE TO SAY THAT MOST OF THEM WHERE NOT 4 STAR GUYS PER RIVALS. IT IS THE GUYS THAT CAN DEVELOPE AND HAVE CHARACTER AT WHATEVER POSSITION THAT WE NEED. CHARACTER PRODUCES STARS. ALOT OF THE TIME ALL THESE STARS PRODUCE CHARACTERS.
  16. Our record is what it is. I just put this out there for some discussion. Every year some teams get the bounce ( Ohio State a couple years back ) or they go against them. Other years (95 Huskers) the team is just head and shoulders above the closest competition. All I'm saying is, a couple plays this way or that and all the people trashing the Huskers are praising them and vise versa. So, can we see through the what ifs and the plays that could have been and be honest. We are young, a first year QB in new system talent on the rise --- things are looking up! Lets go win the next two and see if we can win vs a good team on the road. Heres hoping!
  17. I'm new to the board but have benn reading for a number of months. Here are some thoughts looking at things from both sides. 1. If we would have taken a knee vs Tech We Win 2. If we don't fumble against Miss. we take the lead and go on to win? Maybee! 3. If we don't throw two interceptions that give OU 10 points - we Win. Thats 4 plays that leave us undefeated. Now the other side. 1. If Pitt makes the FG we lose. 2. If ISU makes a play we lose. Thats 2 plays that leave us starring at 3-5. We are young and the future looks bright. Redshirt Beck, it would be a waste of a year of eligability for take it off now. Recruit the line ( both offensive and def. ) because thats where you win or lose --- most of the time. My thoughts --- thanks!
